Hanging out with our team or Vancouver? His good friend from the whitecaps has been trying to get him to come to the MLS for a while now.

TFC really needs to do better in this regard. Look at teams like RSL and Seattle and how fast they get their guys green cards. Gspurning's been in Seattle a year and he's already got one. I know immigration laws are different here but there's I hope TFC is at least trying to get someone like Eckersley a PR card after two full years in Canada.

    Is he still with QPR?

They have a match tomorrow I believe - so if yes he's with QPR and yes he's in Vancouver then you gotta believe its for more than just 'catch the match'...

Hopefully it's him, and they're just finalizing the contract...

Or, it's someone completely different ...

not very hard googling pic of Park Ji Sung!

I still see him listed as a probable sub for their game against Southampton tomorrow.

You can always trade for an international spot, they aren't worth much to most US teams.

Yes but what do we have that we can trade for an int spot?

I expect Lambe to be toast as soon as or if Bostock signs.

Based on the volume of moves, I think Danny K may be history too.

The timetable on Koevs is probably driven by the rehab/insurance considerations (ie his health can't be assessed until he's theoretically "ready")

Wouldn't it be great if we could trade Lambe to another MLS team in exchange for an International spot? That's two spots opened up right there.

I would hate to see that, I think a Koevs/Earnshaw tandem is championship material. If Earnshaw is as good as some say of course.

Even if Koev is bought out, his cap hit still counts. Unless TFC buys him out before end of the day today

Yes. I'm guessing there's a chance that they may get an insurance settlement, and by buying him out now, they would screw that up. So they will sit tight because they would rather keep the option of saving $1.5 million, even if it means taking the cap hit.

Face it, how many guys come back at age 34 from the kind of serious knee injury Koevs has had?

    Just a theory though.

I hope they give Koevermans a chance to prove he's still got it.
He has done enough in his time here to warrant that.

I love the interview where he said he looked up at the wall of fame and decided he wanted to be up there too.

Too big contracts, I think was the phrase, perhaps Management whom I would gather are a little more astute at evaluating player potential, than you or I see something that we obviously don't. I am willing to let those that are paid the money to assemble a team and take it from there. Just saying!

Russell adds depth at a position where it is sorely needed. It's not like he's a DP or anything.

Agreed. Why take up an Int'l spot, not to mention the cap space (I'm sure he's not overly cheap!) on a 32 y/o who doesn't even look like he will slot in as a starter in our full lineup (when it's healthy).

    Seems foolish.

The point I think people are trying to make (at least I am), is that using Int'l spots and (assumed) higher salary, older players for "Depth" positons just seems like a poor use of resources.

I'm sure there are many North American players that would be just as servicable in a depth role (and likely younger, on a cheaper contract).

Yeah you're right. All these over the hill types in MLS has should be sent packing like Keane, Henry, Koevermans, Lindpere, Wondo, DeRo, Cahill, Saborio, Perez, etc.

Anyone over 30 clearly has nothing to offer. Especially when when they haven't got in any league action yet.

I doubt Chivas will want to give up any Int'l spots with the way they are booting out any and all non-mexicans domestic players

Yeah they need as many as they can get too. As said before we could dump supplemental draft picks for slots. Most American teams don't use them all and they just go to waste.
