Emory will be a depth player in a best case scenario next season. Even further away if he won't get in the all important 6 week pre-season.

He's exactly the kind of depth player we need. Young, manageable salary, and able to cover 2 positions.

Emory can't defend if a ball is played in behind him, he also has no natural instincts as a defender. Nice guy but not even worth keeping at 50k

^ He's one of the worst defenders on our team. He mis-marks regularly, and if you want to talk about hoof-ball, he's the number one culprit.

In terms of dead wood that needs to be cut, he's high up on the list. He defends out of sheer terror, not out of any sort of positional awareness or tactical ability.

I'm not sure about Emory. I liked him early season, but he was poor after Mariner took over. I think Emory is definitely workable in the right system and with the right manager. I certainly think a lot of his season's form was down to mis-management rather than the player himself. I think that if Emory was under a different manager, you would see a much better player.

I would agree with this. One thing you have to give him credit for is he never gives up and always fights. He is not good 1v1 and defending needs work, but that IMO is something that can be improved and considering he is still young and cheap, I think is a worthwhile investment. I think he has upside and considering we have no depth should stay on.
