Every time I read an article where Earl Cochrane speaks about their plans just makes me feel ill because of the obvious bullshit. It feels like I am reading the same offseason news every year where they talk about "getting the right characters in the dressing room" and "bringing in a culture of winning" and "we want to be hard to beat". Same shit, different year. I really hope they do it obviously but holy sheep shit stop talking about it and do it. They should also wait until they get signings before they talk about players coming in though IMO. I don't want to hear "just wait until you see who we might or might not get" talk. At least it was the first article on the TFC website out of the last 7 or so that wasn't trying to convince us that Mariner is the man for the job when it comes to coach.

Uh, denime, what happened to Monday?

As for Cochrane, this is the same stuff every year. Never any specifics, like disclosing whether they have invested more in scouting or other variables. Hollow. End of story.

This looks like it won't count and will be played behind closed doors. I hope I'm wrong but that would mean coverage to be nil.

MLS Cup 2012 may still be less than two weeks away, but clubs around the league already have their sights on 2013.
On Monday afternoon a Waiver Draft will be held by MLS via conference call with clubs having the option to pick up out-of-contract players or players whose options were not exercised and are otherwise NOT eligible for December's Re-Entry Draft.
A list of available players will be released by the league shortly before Monday's Waiver Draft. Any players not selected in the Waiver Draft will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis to teams around the league.
The Waiver Draft order is determined via points per game and playoff performance is also taken into account with teams eliminated at the same stage ranked by their regular season point total.
If a team makes a selection during the Waiver Draft, it drops to the bottom of the order for future Waiver Drafts.
Nov. 19, 2012 MLS Waiver Draft Selection Order (2012 finishes in brackets):
    1. Toronto (23 pts)
    2. Chivas USA (30 pts)
    3. Portland (34 pts)
    4. New England (35 pts)
    5. Philadelphia (36 pts)
    6. Colorado (37 pts)
    7. FC Dallas (39 pts)
    8. Montreal (42 pts)
    9. Columbus (52 pts)
    10. Vancouver (43 pts – Knockout Rd elimination)
    11. Chicago (57 pts – Knockout Rd elimination)
    12. Real Salt Lake (57 pts – Conference Semi elimination)
    13. New York (57 pts – Conference Semi elimination)
    14. Kansas City (63 pts – Conference Semi elimination)
    15. San Jose (66 pts – Conference Semi elimination)
    16. Seattle Sounders (56 pts – Conference Championship elimination)
    17. DC United (58 pts – Conference Championship elimination)
    18. Houston (53 pts – MLS Cup finalist)
    19. LA Galaxy (54 pts – MLS Cup finalist)

It's actually Jan 26. Date was just changed by the CSA, or rather corrected.

Jhonny Arteaga I would give a look. There's no shame in not making the cut in an attacking powerhouse like Red Bulls, and might make more sense than weideman or amerikwa.

I dont know much about those defenders or much about the other players, but I would give a chance to the following:

    - Jan Gunner Solli(RM)
    - Teemu Tainio (CM)

    - Jose Angulo(ST)
    - Matias Jara(ST)
    - Ruben Luna(ST)

I agree. This team badly needs depth. And with only 6 discovery signings available and a handful of draft picks, they could have picked up one useful player with this draft.

Isn't this draft a bit premature? Two teams aren't in a position yet to waive players because their seasons aren't finished yet. they could throw some talent into the pool as well.

Well I'll tell you man, despite some posturing about how much "flexibility" we have, I really don't see it. We cut three of the lowest paid guys on the roster and called it a "salary dump" which is curious. I would have just called it cuts.
