I simply cannot get excited for Tony Fonseca as TD. Don't understand why it took three years to appoint an internal candidate, and don't understand why he's better than someone from outside of the organization.
The story sounds re-hashed from start to finish. "He's different from everyone else", "we need someone internal who understands our culture", etc... I don't see it. Sure, he's not the face of the british old boys club people try to associate with the CSA, but at the same time he's completely an insider. He has experience as a professional player but a meddling coaching career, doesn't inspire me with confidence.
Tony Fonseca? Another "internal CSA" man. Guess what folks, he pooches 2016 WCQ... means we're waiting until 2020.

let that thought sink in.
Agreed. The truth of the matter is Fonseca was probably the only guy they could afford. For them to try & sell it like it is based on merit though is laughable.
I feel that it comes across as TFC-like also. Well we have these problems & instead of getting someone from the outside to come in, look at them & try to change things for the better, we are just going to promote from within.
^ No disagreement here. What I also find humorous is that he says he wants to keep Steven Hart to do some work. Well here's the guy who used to be TD, where's his results? Fonseca looks to be roughly of the same mold, so what's he going to accomplish?
