Many people said that the Whitecaps would reach the playoffs before TFC.

    They were right.
MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto

    mornin D/all

yeah, what a finish for the Whitecaps to get in. They were all dismayed losing at home to Portland, the Timbers also capturing that Cascadia Cup. Timbers Army in full effect unfurled a 'Our House' TIFO which is hilarious and stings.

But then the result in Seattle...wow, good times in Shitecaps land last night.

In some ways it's ultimate revenge on TFC, but also not, cause you know, Canadian Championship still here.

We used to get excited about stuff like this... Grass replacement at BMO field has begun. Ha ha, I think there's even a live stream, although it's not really working for me: http://www.torontofc.ca/live

After the 2012 season, watching grass grow may indeed be more satisfying. I heard that the substrate wasn't right, one reason for the flooding during that Vancouver game that was cancelled. (The water couldn't be sucked through the soil fast enough by the underground drainage system.) If that's true, then I guess they will be replacing at least part of the substrate along with the grass.

Well, the lineup shown on the TV broadcast did have Lindsay listed as a defender?!?! Check the beginning of the "Game in 6 minutes." Maybe TFC gave the journalists the same info?

Yup, the grass type was right but the drainage issues where with the substrate. Its part of the reason the pitch looked a bit bad in parts on Saturday too.

The link worked for me. You can actually watch them pulling up the turf.... There really should be an emoticon for 'mind blown'.

Probably a bandwidth problem at my end. Too many students watching Youtube videos, instead of important things like grass cams.
