Default Give it up for Alan Gordon!

On his US debut as a 73rd minute sub, Alan Gordon makes the great pass last night in stoppage time that avoids potential disaster for the US!

That was a superb ball to Johnson.

I'm thrilled for the guy. It's one of the single best stories of the year.

A debut at 31 years old, in a key game, is an incredible rarity. For an elite team that regularly comes out of the group stage in WCs, that is doubly true! Can anyone think of anything like it?

Anybody who read The Beckham Experiment knows what a terrific person he is, and how unlikely it is that he would ever be a USMNT player.

It hardly needs to be said that he was someone who wore our TFC red with pride.

Reminds me a little of the Dario Hubner story. Except Italy didn't take him to the 2002 World Cup and he never did get a cap for Italy.

Love the guy, great heart, flashes of brilliance (remember that volley he banged in for us OUT OF NOWHERE?) and a really chilled out dude to talk to. Couldn't be happier for him.

Gordon is absolutely clutch. They've had so many last-minute heroics in San Jose this year, and Gordon has often been involved one way or another.

I will always be an Alan Gordon fan! Genuinely cool guy who can be magical around the net. Congratulations!

Same, I was really disappointed when we traded him, he was our #2 behind Koevermans, wouldn't have needed Hassli...

I would sort of compare him to Andrea Carraciolo. He's not top tier league talent, but he makes the second league look easy.
