glad to have you aboard. (since I painted that ship on my banner I've noticed that I'm using a bunch of boat terms)... anyway...

I have to be honest bro, i'm one of the biggest whores. i was renewing before the reduction.

This makes no sense. Yes, some of us are happy with the price reduction. But that doesn't mean we are happy with the club/lack of football president/manager. It just means that the price reduction is a "good start".

    Molinaro understands. Great writing.

John Molinaro nailed it. While the reduction is nice - this is smoke and mirrors. Get money from renewals and shift the focus away from the real issues.

Despite the ticket price rollback, Toronto FC prepares for a significant fan exodus

Posted by Kristian Jack under MLS, Toronto FC on Oct 18, 2012

Toronto FC will play their final home game of the 2012 season on Saturday and once again a large number of red seats will remain empty. With Toronto FC having attracted near-capacity crowds for the better part of five years, some are struggling to come to terms the recent decline in attendances at BMO Field. However, rather than looking at the seats that are empty and asking, ‘Where is everyone?’, we would be better off to ask, ‘Why are so many people still coming and will it continue?’ Kristian Jack digs deeper to find the answers on the day Toronto FC announce a rollback to 2007 prices for current season ticket holders.

A concern occured to me about the GATE 4 banner that is planned for tomorrow.
There is a chance that our friends from Montreal will take that as an invitation to meet them at Gate 4 after the match. No-one wants there to be any trouble at our Gate 4 demonstration.

Has security been given a heads-up that we will be holding a peaceful demo post game at Gate 4?
Not sure what section Montreal has been given (can't see it being 104 if 400 odd are coming), but they need to be kept in the ground after the match and escorted away from the ground afterwards.

Just want to put that out there.

The thought had occurred to me as well. I did not want it to read as an invitation to them.

So it reads: 'Have your say at Gate 4'

I would expect security to he about as tight as it can be already.

That's good Yags. If that's the finished product that should be fine. May I suggest adding "Reds" at the end or below the message if there is room. Just for max clarification. If it doesn't work with the fabric space left- no big. Just thought I'd suggest. Cheers.

Good idea. Unfortunately I finished most of it last night and there is not enought room to make 'Reds' big enough to see if added now. We'll just keep our fingers crossed that Security does their job this time.

    M. I've made myself available throughout this. If I wanted to make something myself I would have already. I saw a friend trying to make a message as succinct as possible to avoid Montrealers ruining all our days further. That is all.

Don't kid yourselves people, tickets price drop was always must and very important to having people renew. This isn't a top flight football league. We shouldn't be paying top flight prices no matter how the team fairs in the standings. But that was just one part of the equation.

The other, LARGER and more critical part to the franchise as a whole is the management structure. Currently there are too many business men playing "football manager" right now.
This team needs a football president that will over see the whole operation from top to bottom, making sure that everyone involved is on the same page, playing the same game, pushing towards the same philosophy and goals. And he should be pushing a forward thinking brand of football that works in both North America and CONCACAF - THAT is the magic formula that MLSE can't seem to get.

2 pm. to be honest i'm a bit nervous. but really looking forward to it. I've gotten a lot of great advise from people I respect.

my agenda is to talk about the supporters culture and how damaged it is. discuss how fans feel disengaged from the team and how we would appreciate better communications. my top priority is to talk about the direction of the team, find out what the 5 year plan is or if they have one. I would like to talk about a president for TFC that has proven credentials and knows North American soccer. if it's going well then I will talk about the academy and how they are learning a different style of football than the first team. hopefully this will lead to talk about Mariner and I'll give him my honest opinion that he's not the man for the job and we should have someone with a proven track record as a manager.

I know a lot of guys would like me to go there and pee on his rug. but that's not happening. I don't operate like that. I will go there and represent the supporters as best as I can.

You hav enothing to lose, but you may want to be sur eof how much time you have and tackle the priority items accordingly. If he feels out of his depth (IF???) he may well cut you short claiming another appointment.
    Good luck!

Other MLSE teams have a president or director in place.

For years now we have heard the same excuses from the same guys. The only clear message for Tom Anselmi is that he 'gets it' and 'things need to be fixed'.

Guess what? The same lines don't work. There needs to be a change and people with a football pedigree need to be involved in the direction on the field and made to be accountable when it fails.

The short term casualties of Mariner and all the other managers may be worth it if they make this one fundimental change for the on field product.

It baffles me how they don't 'get it' despite their proclaimations that they do.

Whatever else is going on this Saturday, lets remember to have a good time and cheer our Reds on to victory. We can make our statement to the FO and still bring it to support the team. I would like nothing more than to send those L'imp-act fans home with a serving of humble pie.

If I may make a suggestion, perhaps people who aren't getting food at halftime could go around and spread the word since that's when the most fans will be in the same place. Just go near the food concessions and make an announcement in a very loud voice.
