Default Potential new TFC coach - Steven Hart?

Just throwing this out there but since Seven hart has resigned as coach of the CMNT, should Tommy Boy give him a call to replace Mariner and Co?

I personally think he'd do well if given a chance.

He's a good manager, but not a great manager. But he's a good cheap replacement and he knows Canadian players and CONCACAF region in general (huge plus). I hope Hart can land a job in TFC FO.

He's players coach and well respected by the players who likes to play 4-5-1/4-3-3 (for most of the time).

He isn't bad either. Having Fonseca and Hart in TFC FO is a good idea.

Not sure about this. I liked him too but it's not like he squeezed gold out of CMNT roster. Plus, at this time, I don't think he'd be the choice if you were looking for more good PR.

He didn't squeeze gold but he certainly did well.

Plenty of clean sheets along the way, which of course is our problem.

He's also going to push for Canadians, rather than Mariner and his Bermudan dreams. /inbeforePookiesaysCanadiansAreWhyWeLose

Hire Steven Hart to run the operations and then he hires Tony Fonseca as coach and let Tony bring in his assistant, Then Tony will have players come in on trial like:

    Assistants - Marc Dos Santos - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc_Dos_Santos

FYI: Stephen Hart stepped down. So he's looking for a job. TFC: you know what to do now.

Hart also knows Concacaf, another bonus.

Scouting anyone? Don't tell me he's not connected in the region.

^You guys cannot be serious. Gimme a break. I'm trying to imagine the conversation in any other country, where the national team manager has just quit because he lost 8-1 in the biggest game in years, and the big local club team's fans want the guy.

You want a recently unemployed ex-Concacaf MNT team manager?

This guy has 100x the credentials of Hart:

CSA should hire him, but he has no experience in North America though. So I don't see why TFC should hire him.

Agree. I'm really addressing the Hart idea. We have a sort of tendency of supporting ideas we don't think through, just because a guy is "Canadian".

If Jesus himself came down from heaven to coach the CMNT he wouldn't pull off any type of international hardware.

Hart did an amazing job, he is more brilliant than anyone we could hope to find and if he ends up coaching TFC I will make it my mission to be on here as much as possible shooting crap at anyone who calls for his dismissal.

I though his selections were off at times, and I think he had problems getting his teams to perform away in some big matches. I think we can do better.

And yet people were screaming for an experienced manager? I like Hart and I think he's an honourable man who will bring a level of professionalism and... gravitas that a gentleman could. (kinda reminds me of Winter in mannerism actually) But keep in mind, before CMNT gig, he coached some minor team in Halifax. He's familiar with MLS, but he doesn't know MLS like we need our manager too. Plus he's not a good motivator, especially during high pressure games.
He'll have inside track on returning CMNT players (and I can think of quite a few who would be an asset), plus knows the up and comers in Canadian youth system, but I don't think that's enough.

We need a proven winner at the helm. Hart would be nice on consulting or scouting capacity.
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

I'm going to say no. He had some weird player selections at times, playing people out of position. I never liked that he played DeRo (Canada's BEST goal threat) out wide while playing Occean (who really can't seem to score with consistency for his nation) isolated up front. Hart clearly can get a team playing conservatively, conceding few goals. But I want to win a game by scoring, not by conceding as few as we possibly can.

I'd support the guy if he was named coach, like I've supported all coaches to start with. But I think we can do better.

    NO!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I don't care overly much if the coach has MLS experience, as long as the General Manager does.

I thought Hart got jobbed when they only named him interim, and despite good results was replaced by the forgettable Dale Mitchell. Even after that fiasco the best the CSA could do was name him interim again, before finally giving him the position outright.

His greatest failure, IMO, was his inability to convince certain talent to turn out for the squad.

I think he would be good in an environment where he could bring the talent he wants in, not work with whats been given(cmnt).

CMNT played 4-4-2 against Honduras, you can check it,it's all over the net.

System aside,I don't think he would be the right choice for TFC.

How about Gary Smith. MLS Cup with limited funds and cap space. Has League One Stevenage in promotion spot for the past two seasons. Would know MLS players and rules well. And doing it with a few MLS and N. American players on his current roster.

I freaking love La Volpe. I think if I had to choose any coach, anywhere to manage TFC... he'd probably be the guy. I wonder how he'd adapt to North America, but technically, tactically, attractive football-wise, this guy is a god.

And as for the SH talk, really? No more inexperienced managers please. He can serve as a scout or an assistant.

There's plenty of time to be nice?
