Edu was the assumption because he's the most photographed TFC player, if Edu had been picked it would have smacked of tokenism, while Jimmy's selection shows appreciation of the captains abilities.
Jimmy is a true all-star by far, he deserves to be there, never takes a minute off, fights to the end, he is a true fighting red, I am proud of this moment where coaches truely decide who deserves to be there.

Every league has all-star selection controversies, but what is going on with the Buddle selection as one of the two "Commissioner's" picks?
LA already had two guys in. There is nobody selected from DC United (or RSL or SJ for that matter). Come on, DCU had a slow start, but that team is now hotter than a polar bear in the Mojave Desert, and they won the supporters shield last year. RSL are a half decent squad too. Jeez, Marvell deserves to be there over Buddle.

My main point was about DCU not having a player. Emilio has 10 goals and isn't playing with anyone nearly as good as Beckham/Donovan. Nobody in this league would take Buddle over Emilio straight up, nobody.

I was shocked to not see Emilio selected. Buddle was worthy also IMO but Emilio shoulda been there as well. Selecting two forwards from the same team is just whoring LAG out...
