Columbus midfielder Kirk Urso passes away...RIP

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus Crew rookie midfielder Kirk Urso passed away on Saturday night, according to information released by the club.

The Crew issued the following statement on Sunday morning: "While the circumstances of Urso’s passing are still being determined, no further comments will be made at this time. The thoughts and prayers of the entire Columbus Crew and Hunt Sports Group are with the Urso family in this time of need."

Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber released the following statement: "We are deeply saddened by the death of Columbus Crew player Kirk Urso. Major League Soccer mourns his death and sends our condolences to his family. MLS will hold a moment of silence for Kirk at today's two league matches."

According to The Columbus Dispatch, police officers were dispatched to Park Street Patio in Columbus at 12:50 am Sunday morning. Urso was taken to Grant Hospital and pronounced dead at 1:51 am.

He's just a kid. Way, way too young to pass away like that. Life fucking sucks.

Hate these headlines. Guys have a whole life and career ahead of them playing a game they love, and then out of the blue this happens.

Hey random crew fan here... Next week big match, we all know. But with the events that happen today. Lets show some respect to one another this weekend. The passing or kirk urso is has hurt alot of us here in cbus. I know its hard when columbus and Toronto play, but lets avoid the fighting / tash talk this weekend, enjoy some footy and a good game. Save all the hate for the epic Halloween game at the end of the year. There will be times for fighting and verbal abuse lol, but just not this weekend. This will be my only post, and i will only reply to this, and by the end of the night will have removed myself.
