The Toronto Sun has learned Toronto FC players Miguel Aceval, Nick Soolsma and Luis Silva were jailed in Houston for public intoxication overnight.
The TFC trio were taken into custody at Club Escobar in the 2900 block of Travis St.
"There was a large disturbance outside the club called," a Houston Police spokesman told the Sun. "Our officers tried to disperse the fight at which time they refused to leave and then began to have verbal altercations with the officers.
"One of them ran and so the officer ran and the officer took him into custody."
Aceval, Soolsma and Silva confirmed to police they were in Texas for a match against the Houston Dynamo on Wednesday.
Good work. Nothing says dedication to your team like going on a pissup when you have 2 games in 5 days...
Oh man.... really?
Someone please tell me this is a joke.

Cut them all.
This is inexcusable and has to break team rules.
If there's one thing you can learn by following TFC: shit can always get worse!
In all seriousness though, who knows how something like this went down? Getting arrested for public intoxication in the US can be a matter of running into the wrong police officer at times... I'd rather leave the players and what they do off the field out of the equation, although I doubt this helps their conditioning, with the exception of Aceval who looks to be rounding into form to attend beerfest this fall
You have to give it to TFC, they are NEVER boring.. There's ALWAYS something to talk about..
We should give a trial to the policeman that caught one of them. Could be a useful winger with that pace...well unless it was Aceval he was catching.

My guess is Aceval ran, explains why he was caught.
If anyone was wondering if we've sunk to the depths of a pub league club....well...I think that's been answered.
At least they're finally showing some fight!
'None of you coppers can catch me, I'm a professional athlete.. DUH!'
I can't believe that one of them actually tried to run, that is gold jerry, gold i tell you. Anyways what does that say about this team, one dude tries to run away from the fuzz and leave the other two high and dry.. well not so dry in this instance but you get my drift..
Wow.
I can understand why TFC fans would be driven to drink , but the players?
It draws into question team discipline.
Now I wonder if TFC-TV will feature the arrest, along with jail-room interviews with the players on how much the team is improving game-by-game?
MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto
Here's the 1.9M dollar question: does JDG provide the bail money?
