We definitely need a hypnotist before every MLS game, to trick Ryan Johnson into thinking it's actually a cup game. RJ scored the winning goal for Jamaica vs Guatemala in WCQ last night.

DC Reserves just beat TFC Reserves 4-3 in Washington. Scoring summary:

    DC – Stephen King 16'
DC – Maicon Santos (Kurt Morsink, Emilano Dudar) 20'
TOR – Peri Marosevic (Keith Makubuya) 29'
TOR – Keith Makubuya (Nick Soolsma) 47'
    DC – Chris Pontius 53'
DC – Hamdi Salihi (Ricky Burke) 80'
    TOR – Nick Soolsma 89

Toronto lineup: Quillan Roberts; Ty Harden (Roberto Galle, guest or trialist, 28'), Dicoy Williams, Miguel Aceval, Tyler Pasher (Academy); Matt Stinson, Oscar Cordon (Ha DC had a typo: Gordon) (replaced by Michael Wagenknecht, Academy, 83'), Junior Burgos (Mario Orestano, Academy, 69'); Nick Soolsma, Keith Mukubuya, Peri Marosevic (guest or trialist).

Maybe a hint of who's not starting for TFC in KC, e.g. Aceval, Soolsma? (Soolsma must have been pissed that he couldn't watch Oranje play.) Then again, Williams, Aceval, and Soolsma are all coming back from injury, so it may mean nothing other than needing to work for match fitness.

Full report from DC here: http://www.dcunited.com/news/2012/06...4-toronto-fc-3

EDIT Roberto Galle seems to be a Humber College "all-round" player, not sure if he was playing CB based on subbing in for Harden. http://humberetc.com/2011/11/30/humb...-all-athletes/

Interesting that Marosevic is back. I noticed he hadn't found another club the other day. Iro, too, although he's on a two-week tryout with the Galaxy right now.

Here's an interesting note; the guy RSL drafted ahead of Stefan Frei is now at San Jose and has been loaned to USL-Pro. Eek.

Yes, they seem to be expecting something from Marosevic, they even posted a short article about his return on the TFC website (already linked above).

Nice if they continue to be open with information.

Andy Iro, oh god. Sounds like he would fit in well with Toronto's reserve defenders, e.g: "The ball was mishandled by a Toronto defender and fell right to a waiting Stephen King, who easily blasted the ball into the net from eight yards." and "Six minutes later, DC recaptured the lead following a terrible giveaway by Toronto’s back line. The ball fell directly to Pontius at the top of the 18-yard box, and was easily deposited past Roberts with his second touch."

Marosevic was apparently scheduled to jump from $129k (2011, see http://www.mlsplayers.org/files/Sept... - By Club.pdf) to $150k in his 2012 option year. I wonder what he would be willing to take now.

Article on the reserves game now up on the TFC website as well: http://www.torontofc.ca/news/2012/06...short-goalfest

Watching the TFC vs DC United reserve league highlights shows how shitty our defence is. Easy defensive errors and giveaways. We just gave DC United the three points. I think DC United's first goal came from a comical defensive error by Dicoy Williams. Good goals, very shitty defending. That's all I got to say.

Defense looked crappy but there are some other good signs. Marosevic still looks like a cool customer in front of net, doesn't panic, and goes for placement on the goal. Never give up on a guy in MLS who can calmly put the ball in the net if he's in the right spot. That being said, how many more undersized midfielders can we afford?

Keith Mac scored a nice goal there in the package as well. Seems to be having a nice run of form lately with the reserves.
