Search #tfcmajorannouncement on Twitter if you're having trouble killing time over the next 52 minutes, definitely some good jokes there.

Lol...with all the rumours (turned out to be false) of MLSE taking over Leeds United, this would be an interesting turn of events.

Only 2 chairs. My bet is Anselmi and Mariner are going to be sitting there.

Maybe it will be Paul Mariner & Andy Iro sitting in those two chairs...

I'm not saying i'm a huge fan of winter. but if these rumours are true, it once again shows what a JOKE of a team we are.. Tom A and the rest of the clowns in MLSE should be the first to be shown the door, then get a guy in there that understands the sport to make a decision on winter.. God i'm counting the seconds for bell/rogers to take over, i'm so tired of this circus..

Winter could be out as coach without it being negative. Winter shifted into a different role, Mariner or Nicol new manager.

I don't think Rogers or Bell cares about TFC. They will be too busy fighting over TV rights for Maple Leafs games.

But I hope I am wrong though.

    Aron Winter is fired.
Also, we saw Paul Stalteri at the Canada game.

    Paul Mariner is taking over.

I think if this was the case, he'd be on the podium w Tommy A and Mariner, to endorse the new set up.

Winter's overall record at the helm would certainly warrant his dismissal, but why fire him right after TFC won the Voyageurs Cup and snapped their MLS losing skid?

New England already has as many wins so far this year as all of of last year and Paul Mariner was involved with Toronto getting a lot of shit MLS players. If Nicol and Mariner are in charged i'll be pissed. Not that I think Winter is better, I just don't think they are better than Winter. Hope I am wrong.

I have it now on pretty good authority that the story is substantially true. The person telling me this hasn't been wrong before.

Appointing an interim manager for the rest of the season is basically waving the white flag that they are giving up and this season is a write off. They need to find someone this year so the young players get some coaching that will be useful to next year's strategy. At 19 years old having an interim manager who will be replaced in 8 months is a lot of wasted development time.

Oh screw it what does it matter. We trade all our prospects for allocation money and a bag of balls.

I am glad Winter is gone, but I really hope the journos ask some legit questions. How many fucking times are we going to hear about a new manager's "direction" and "culture" before the idiot running the whole shit show gets canned.

I know Anselmi won't ever get canned, but I would love t hear him justify another coaching change under his stupid watch.

    edit:

Love the end of the Star's article...

"Twitter exploded with word of the TFC announcement. Speculation about the subject ranged from the firing of Winter to confirmation that Argentine superstar Lionel Messi was not signing with the club and that the Reds were going to be relegated."

It makes sense now that Mariner was moved down to field to work with the strikers to get the players used to the idea of him being down there and involved. This was most likely in the works for a while now.

I get the feeling Winter must have done something recently that might pissed off MLSE? Or some disagreements between Winter and Mariner on signing some players during the break?

Goff, Galarcep, Grange, etc. These guys are all referencing @foxsoccer... it's not like there are multiple sources.

If this is true, we are most definitely the worst run team in all of world football. Not a Winter fan, but the timing of this is all wrong.

That is the first question that should be asked. The journos here won't do it, though.

If Winter is out and Mariner minus Nicol in, I'm underwhelmed.
