Is that an Impact Retro Look from 1992??. Canada is RED, Not HARPER Blue. I had to LOL at the fact that they're still for sale considering how much fanfare the CSA made a few weeks ago saying they were available on a limited run and would sell out in minutes. Makes me happy very few people bought them.

Anyway rant over. GO CANADA- GO RED- NOT BLUE.

Um no. It's a retro Canada look from 1912. The info is a click away on the link. And the limited run is doing quite well thank you very much. It seems that many disagree with your scoffing and want to celebrate a momentous milestone in our game.

And there was no claim from the CSA that they would sellout in minutes.

I hope this means you'll be buying the new red kit for the coming qualifiers. Both are great looking designs.

what? Canada is red, but you may wanna look back at the history books..
while we're on that topic, i'd gladly buy one if i had the money to do so, but i dont. hell, i considered picking one up and i dont even have the money to attend the games!! on saturday i saw at least 5 people wearing them. now, everyone's entitled to their opinion, in fact, here's a thread where people are talking about buying them, but a reminder that ignoring the facts and making your own up leaves you liable for a counter-attack is in order.

EDIT: pete, what do the qualifiers look like?

I'd love us to get away from using our flag as a template for our kit. Or at least as an alternate.

Much like how the Dutch and Spanish play in the colours of their Royal Houses.

Sorry not sure what you mean.

    Overview of CONCACAF:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_FI...AF_Third_Round

    Our group is Group C:

    Cuba away Fri. June 8
Honduras at home Tues. June 12 (tix still available)

Panama at home Fri. Sep. 7
    Panama away Tues. Sep. 11

Cuba at home Fri. Oct. 12
    Honduras away Tues. Oct. 16

They will most likely be wearing the new classic red or white kit throughout qualification.

Wow, we're in a "win spell"? How many wins do you need to have a win spell?

"1 win is one win, 2 wins in a row that's back to back wins, and 3 wins in a row is a win streak".

For this team, I think the rules change.

1 win is a miricle, 2 wins is considered a win spell, 3 wins and fucking flood gates have opened and we are in the playoffs! lol

Good definition. I've always been a stickler when it comes to championships as well.

    1 = win, 2 = back2back, 3 in a row = dynasty. Modern dynasties can piss off.

Default Losing streaks change the way the body works

I heard a very interesting interview on the Current yesterday with a guy who used to be a trader, then quit to do a PhD in neuroscience. He was interested in the change in decision making behaviour in stock traders in bull and bear markets. Basically, his argument was that decision making is less a rational function of the brain, and has more to do with physical "gut" feelings, and that this behaviour becomes even stronger in stock traders when the stock market is performing really well. He found that testosterone levels in traders increase a lot in bull markets, leading to further gut reaction decisions and eventually to risky behaviour and decisions that on the fact of it aren't rationale. The opposite happens in bear markets, and in their trough traders make overly conservative decisions.

My point in putting this here is that the same things happen in sports winning and losing streaks. Winning teams have higher levels of testosterone, which actually build more muscle mass, leaner bodies, improved recovery times, etc. Also have the same tendency toward risk - the streak often ends due to poor risk taking decisions. Losing teams have lower levels of testoterone, and all the opposite affects, including playing more conservatively. Winning and losing streaks actually physiologically change the bodies of atheletes and in that way become self-perpetuating.

So it's not just the psychology of losing streak, but the physiology of it too.

Interesting stuff I thought. Roogsy, I was kind of thinking of you actually when I heard this. Thought this was up your alley.

You can find the podcast here if anyone's interested:

I totally buy into this. I would not have known to connect the physiological reactions, but the results seem very familiar.

Funny enough I was speaking to a client about this yesterday about how despite the fact that markets are commonly referred to as "rational" they are anything but.

I do believe there are incredible similarities between my industry and sports.

yeah, i meant the one you posted above. sorry, you called them the "new" red kit and i got confused because i dont consider them that new. i was under the assumption that we would do what every country does and release 2-3 new kits every time something comes up *cough*england*cough*, so i thought there was another one in the works.

MLSE's websites and twitter probably got the most traffic its ever had outside of Canada today with the rumours that they were in on the impending takeover( on a side note, thank the lord for it) of Leeds United, MLSE have denied the rumours completely, and lets hope they are telling the truth, I don't think my heart could take MLSE owning both of my clubs

Thanks MLSSOCCER.COM. If the club goes on a win streak, less sarcasm next ranking, please.

Problem with England kits is that they're predominantly white. D'you know how hard it is to get brown sauce and stout out of a white shirt?! You have to change with the stains!

I feel for Leeds supporters everywhere if this is true :

    Leeds United admit takeover talks

Reports emerged yesterday suggesting there had been significant interest in a takeover bid from a number of parties. Canadian company Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment had been linked with buying out Ken Bates’ share in the club, something the company have reportedly denied.

But Leeds released a statement on Tuesday that confirmed negotiations have taken place, although they refused to go into more detail.

Oh gawd...MLSE want to own yet another team they will lead nowhere???

Run Leeds fans...run as fast as you can.

I don't believe Leeds fans will be as forgiving of MLSE's incompetence as Toronto fans have been.

Leeds have no where to go but up, right? Never thought i could pity Leed's supporters anymore than i already do.

MLSE aren't content with ruining storied Canadian teams, they need to make it an international operation.

MLSE is saying the rumours are totally false...

However, it's surprising how positive/hopeful many Leeds fans are on Twitter about this rumour. They must be REALLY desperate, and know nothing about MLSE...

    ok - thanks.

    this made me laugh :
