Default Road trip to Chicago for the August Long weekend?

Is anyone planning on making the trip? The game is on the Saturday of the long weekend. I'm asking because I'm going to be in town for the weekend and wanted to pick up tickets in a TFC supporting section.

Lolapalooza is that weekend as well, so if your a music fan it makes for a great road trip. But it might be difficult to get accommodations so it's probably a good idea to book soon.

For sure there will traveling support for this game. They always put us in 134, just call the Fire FO and order your tickets.

Warning: go easy on the deep dish prior to the game man... I was unprepared. Had 2 or 3 slices and practically had to crawl a block to buy a pack of smokes.

I'll create a thread in both members and non-members section to see how many people are going down. Working with Chicago FO on ticketing and game day transfers.

give me a few days and stay tuned.

Having just done the D.C. road trip in May (ie, 12 hour drive)... the drive to Chicago will feel like a walk in the park...

That's pure lulzerific man. Suggesting the option of sitting in the Corporate Party Deck instead standing with your fellow supporters after a 7+ hour drive for everyone. All you can eat BBQ in KC has clearly fucked up your perception of away games, but then again you are the dude telling people to go to Real Sports instead of Joes for away game viewing. Not surprised.

So are we doing something as a group or should I just call and get tickets in 134?

I am new to this board and just wanted to ask a couple of questions. I want to bring my son to this game as we will also be in Chicago during the game. Does it get to rowdy sitting amongst TFC supporters? Do we have to fear hooliganism and all that? I was just watching the news on the Euros.

No no, we're not anything near that. There also isn't hundreds of years of animosity between us and section 8(chicago's supporters section).

Support in North America is all about fun. In most cities you'll find more a friendly joking rivalry than anything else (the one exception to this is Montreal). It's not at all like the hooliganism in Europe or hockey violence in Canada. You'll be fine and have fun.

The only thing you might find as a mom is that occasionally the language used by some fans can be "colourful," although if you son is like mine, he's probably heard worse at school or in the neighbourhood.

From the look of it in public area and in members area, we are not going to get enough size for a group purchase or Group tickets with game day transfer Coach from Toyota Field/Designated Hotel pick up location either.

I'll let Chicago FO know to set aside 20-40 tickets the best case scenario and see if they will still give us a booking code for discount.

    First off, welcome.

Oldtimer touched on everything and there should really be no worries at all. I'd add in addition to Montreal, Columbus could be on that list, but with Section 8 (Chicago's supporters), we have in the past had supporter soccer matches (friendlies with them before an actual game)...I think they generally like the Toronto supporters, i never had a problem and the worst you'll get is some friendly banter

Any one got a number to call for ticketing? I've tried 2 numbers on their web page and both are coming back out of service.

I'm waiting for Kyle from Chicago FO to give me the purchasing weblink and a number to call. Emailed him yesterday.

Well thank you for that information guys. I was just worried because I had heard some story about a bunch of fans peeing on a church!

Tried to get tickets. There's an issue with using Canadian credit cards in the system (after trying 3 different cards i called and spoke to a ticketmaster person). Can you reach out to the administrator on their side and see how they can get around it?

Looks like I was the first to purchase (Row 7 - Seats 1-3). I ended up giving Kyle a call. If anyone else has issues with processing their credit card (it happens with some and not others) just call him directly. 708-496-6778.

Kevin - thanks for setting this up.

I bought my tickets back in March so way before this group deal was set up. I was under the impression that RPB didn't share info on away game trips with non-members.

anyway, nice to see that a bunch of us are going. See you there.
