De Guzman doesn't have to sit at all, because that was a non-league game. I don't even know if his red card carries over to the CCL group stage.

Does he even have to sit? Surely his red has no effect on his availability for an MLS game. Come to think of it does his red even carry forward to the CL group stage? Anyone have to answers? thx

The Red Card doesn't carry over to the CCL, which is a separate competition. It could possibly carry over to next year's Canadian Championship, if JDG was still with a Canadian team. That I don't know.
