    mornin d

what a win finally something positive

Vancouver coach Martin Rennie was both gracious in defeat (congratulating TFC as worthy winners) while also suggesting his team did not get the benefit of the calls from referee Silviu Petrescu.

did he watch the same game --- the referee was absolutely brutal and the linesman on the west side looked at a ball that was clearly out and ignored it ffs
wow 2016 and things are looking up --- come on you reds lets go

More than the ref, I thought the linesmen were shockingly bad last night on a lot of calls.

I am happy to again get the cup and knock Vacouver out!

    Well done last night!

So last year it was a thunderstorm. This year it's an Ontario referee (who BTW didn't call a WC handball in the box). The Whitecaps are always so hard done by. It's never their fault, they just can't get a break.

Regardless of our record in league play, TFC was definitely the best team in the tournament, and fully deserved to win their fourth consecutive Voyageurs Cup trophy.

The Vancouver media is not accepting Rennie's excuses, and are giving it to the Whitecaps:

This time, it wasn't lightning and torrential rain that cost the Vancouver Whitecaps in the Canadian championship.

The Montreal Impact had nothing to do with it.
It wasn't even referee Silviu P etrescu, though he had little control over a game that saw eight cards and finished 10-aside, a fact that had Whitecaps coach Martin Ren-nie steaming afterward.
No, in the biggest game of their season so far, against an opponent that is 0-9 in MLS but has somehow found a way to win Canadian titles, the Whitecaps were simply bad.

Yep, that is a simple fact. If we are as hapless as we seem, Montreal and Vancouver had 180 minutes each to knock us out. Neither did.

This Simpson news just killed my TFC buzz. Here was me thinking the news section would be a safe place today....

Oh well I'm sure my buzz will be restored Saturday when we beat Philly...

Thanks denime for doing this everyday

I'm a TFC zombie today..... but one that sings Corey Hart 'Never Surrender'

Nice to do some celebrating, and nice that the cup celebration is becoming 'familiar' hehe

Shouts out to Dave and Bobby in the capo stand, Furtado91 having a successful go for a bit, and everyone for keeping the voices and energy strong. Man did we all lose our shit when Soolsma's offside goal went in. Whole rows switched places in a single bound

    haha
    RPB has Obama'ed me
