    Default Prematch/In-match Philly @ TFC, May 26, 4:30 PM

I'm going on a limb and will say that TFC will probably finally break it's MLS losing streak with a win against the Philadelphia Union.

Would be nice, actually, I think it's imperative to break our duck before the layoff. Going into the break being 0-10 would be terrible for the players to dwell on. Just need to get a hypnotist in there to convince them the Philly game is actually a CCL game.

8-0 for TFC, with six of those goals coming from Dunfield. You heard it here first.

TFC, first team to make the playoffs with a 0-9 start. We're the record breakers. I feel a song coming on...

    Oh you guys!

It's more realistic that TFC will blow this one now, especially after last night! I'm going to say a stunnin, exciting, mind blowing 0-0!

I think the Cann/Henry combination will slowly come right this season if Winter keeps faith. Aside from the DC game, we've had 2 clean sheets and a game that required a wonderstrike in injury time.

    Baby steps.

I dunno, maybe TFC can get Nowak fired after this weekend? They seem to be pretty good in that department.

    18 - 0 and all 18 scored by Duncefield.

    I want a goal every 5 mins.

Call it affirming the consequent, but didn't Toronto seem a whole hell of a lot better possessionally without Dunfield and De Guzman on the pitch? Just saying...

it helps when you replace Dunfield with Frings. I thought JDG didn't too badly before his red card

This game is important. We need to put this streak to bed, and two wins in a row would be nice.

I know some people have lauded JDG for "sticking up for his teammates" and such, and perhaps adding some much needed fire, but what he did was just plain selfish and stupid. It perfectly exemplifies his attitude since he came here. I'd rather have him not play at all if it results in scorelines such as last night.

I don't think Winter's going to change too much. Esp not sitting Lambe, who scored a goal. Hard to bench a player who scored a goal.

    Edit.

lambe should get the start, he is really coming up with points and being decisive in his position.

Interesting.. as it would seem that's exactly what this team needs, at the moment -- score-lines like that.

Hear, hear! That's not something a veteran should be doing in a cup final. I thought he was having a good game up until that point. I'd rather his type of influence be far away from our young players, especially the canadian kids.

It's an understatement to say this is a MUST WIN...if we tank this one we could easily go 0-15 or something...

Last 6 Games (MLS & ACC)

    Goals For : 5
    Goals Against : 6

Previous 7 games (MLS, no CCL)

    Goals For : 6
    Goals Against : 16

So it appears the defence has shored up quite a bit, perhaps due to regular playing partners. If the offence kicks into gear and pots a couple goals at home, we could be picking up our first 3 points. Although, in the three games where we've scored more than one goal, we've only won once. (MLS, ACC, no CCL)

the cup win was for the supporters.
tomorrow, the MLS win is for the boys. lets show them we're still with them!

2-1 TFC, our second coming in the late minutes, a complete reversal of fortunes.
it'd be nice to see a ball go in the opposite net during league play after 85+ for once

For the love of God. I thought if anything, this 0-9 run would teach people that "must win" is amongst the silliest cliches in sport. This game is not must win. This is almost the least "must win" game I can remember.

I think those are 2 extremes. While I don't believe that all is lost if we can't win tomorrow, we're coming off a rare win high. Momentum must continue since there's quite a break after this match. If they lapse back into a negative malaise it will last weeks till they play again.

Tampa Bay Rays players were wearing these rally caps this week. It would be awesome if the entire supporters section had these on! (Not realistic, but you can dream).

This is now when Winter decides that we need to keep a clean sheet and get a point and throws out a midfield of Duncefield - Frings De Guzman - just to kill the attacking momentum we gained from the ACC win

Not so sure about that. Philly's starting keeper may be out. He is pretty inexperienced as it is, so the backup must be even more so. This looks like the kind of game we should be able to really press. Koevermans will likely start, having gotten unexpected rest Wednesday. Likely Lambe and Soolsma as well. I could see Johnson going back to AM possibly. I think it'll be an offensive lineup.
