Default TFC vs MTL VC, Dr. Jekyll & TFC post-game thread

So who is the real TFC? The 0-8 team? The team that played tonight?

The players wanted to win. Same guys as always but they had the fire. Frings led them. Everyone played well. These guys are good when they come to play.

For me, tonight reinforced what DeRo said - this isn't a 0-8 bunch of players, there is something else wrong.

Well they won, so maybe there is something right, at least for this game?

Also, if I've been giving Winter a hard time because of losing, it would be unfair for me to not give him some credit when the team wins. I liked the offensive formation for most of the game, and I think the subs were for the most part the right choices.

Totally agreed! I've been saying that I like the players, and the team should be playing a lot better. so what gives? Why can this team play SO well in cup matched, and look awful in league games? I just don't get it?! Tonight they attacked straight from the kick off, And even when Eckersley was (very harshly IMO) sent off, they kept attacking.

Why haven't they been doing this the last few league games? TFC need to go out and attack at home, they need to own BMO!

I just worry that DC will beat us next game, and they will back to square one again! I don't want this team to be a one trick pony playing well ONLY in league games. We HAVE to play like that in league games.

Reminds me of one of my favourite Homer quotes - "Well, I'm tired of being a wannabe league bowler. I wanna be a league bowler!"

If they can play like that every game, they wouldn't be 0-8. Maybe they finally got their act together? Now we have to wait a week to see if they can do it against Vancouver. If they beat the Whitecaps, I think I might start to believe again...

Some very good performances put in all over the pitch. So much more or a team effort tonight and it showed in the result.

I would keep Winter just for De Klerk.

Also, I would just like to point out that TFC are 1-0 this season when I come to the RPB in-game chat. Just sayin

    Feel free to thank me

That goes down as an all-time TFC performance. Attacking players took onus to bring the game to montreal. Still hate RJ in the middle as a target (think it's a waste) but we have nobody else who can play the spot so oh well.. Henry looked solid as well.

That being said, it is one game of many this team will need to win in order to redeem itself. Don't think it's appropriate to speculate on how good we are at this point. Management team is still hanging on by a thread.

You can say that for sure, he was letting the officials hear it all night, at one point the fourth official told him to sit down. It hit a boiling point when the final whistle blew and a cop and security took BDK by the arms and escorted him off the pitch.

They've had many team meetings this year. But i do believe that putting Frings in his rightful position helps a lot.

    100 times this.

Without Frings in the middle of the field to distribute the buildup sputters as soon as the ball leaves his foot in the backline.
