I was always joking around about Paul Mariner being Dunfield's boyfriend but seriously of all people why did Mariner bring Dunfield to the press conference? Is he going to give him the full 90 or something and then another full 90 against Houston? Its pretty clear by now that Mariners favourite player on the squad is Dunfield.

I wonder if there will be any streams for this game? I guess it's being shown on Fox Soccer Channel...

Maybe he's a leader in the locker room. Maybe he pulled the short straw amongst the players, to see who would go to the conference. Who knows.

I like how finally, the local media is on to the fact that Liverpool isn't bringing any of their euro 2012 players. Well done, lol.

A press release on Wednesday stated that England internationals Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson, Andy Carroll, Stuart Downing and Jordan Henderson would be in the squad travelling to Toronto. WHAT A FARCE!

But in a another statement released less than 24 hours before kickoff, organizers announced that “due to FIFA regulations surrounding mandatory vacation dates” following international tournaments, all players who took part in Euro 2012 would miss out on the trip to Canada. LOL

For those who bought LFC tix and were hoping to print it out today, better hope the account manager website is working later this morning. I wanted to go check to see the 'new' MLSE ticket website and it was down.

Isn't Dunfield EVERYBODY'S favourite player? He's stolen the hearts and minds of the supporters and the libidos of the sexy ladies.

Mariner would have liked team captain for these kind of press conferences, but Frings being Frings probably didn't want to do it, and Dunfield who is likely the vice captain now that JDG is gone, filled in?

I wonder if the friendly is dead in Toronto?

I'm sure the organizers are taking a nice hair cut with only 34,000 attending (I'm not expecting a big walk up crowd and Rogers is known to paper crowds, see the NFL in Toronto). Especially when you include the cost of bringing in real grass.

I was at the Juve v Sporting friendly at BMO Field last year and it was barely 50% full. And most other friendlies aren't well attended.

I think the soccer market is saturated.

International friendlies used to be an automatic sellout before the inception of TFC. Now, it's not that much of a draw, especially at exorbitant prices.

Yeah they were automatic sellouts cuz they were rare and unusual. I went to Celtic Roma, a few years before TFC was even rumoured. It was a big deal because we just couldn't see much pro football around these parts. It was a spectacle. Now the market has much more pro football and people are more mature about it. So less interest.

I do feel a little guilty not going to cheer on our high schoolers, but my anti-mlse principles and valuing my entertainment money outweighs that guilt.

You problably would have gotten a better crowd if it were a match against two established European clubs, like Liverpool vs. Juventus.

Any future summertime friendlies need to leave TFC out of this.

Wow. Our first-string lineup, except the goalie who is on trial I believe. If someone gets injured...

This is bs.... Didn't Johnson say he didn't want to play...? And I feel bad for Quilian, I was really excited to see him in a TFC jersey.. why wouldn't they let him start?

What about the second half lineup?

Also im supprised Frings didnt bail, i would think he is pissed at playing a pointless game at his age.
