    Morning D!

With Fings and Cann almost ready to return and only 3 days left before the window closes I don't see the Reds making a trade.

This quote from the Larson story ....man .... Asking Cochrane about the delicate art of not making bad trades is like asking the Boston Strangler about neck massages.

"You see (a club) that has some needs and might be struggling," Cochrane said. "You sense they might do something that's a little bit knee-jerk. People are going to throw you anchors all the time. You have to be weary of that and make sure that you don't give up something that you don't really want to give up."
“What the world needs is more geniuses with humility; there are so few of us left.”

Rongen's explanation of the Vukovic release sounds reasonable.

Vukovic, seems like a gamble at this point, but do they really think he is only capable of playing striker or can you try playing him at another position, kinda like how they think that Dunfield is a holding midfielder. It seems like they need to have a other options for young players, like sending them on loan to PDL or NASL then we know that they have exhaust all options.

    Gomez makes a good point.

Lack of depth in MLS is what really is holding the league back, which goes back to the salary cap. And lack of 2nd division, i.e. Vukovic having to go elsewhere in order to play.

if there were no salary cap, this league would probably not have lasted 16 years. the salary cap was the only way to get this league started. eventually the salary cap will be significantly higher, hopefully it won't be a single entity league and then you will see the MLS clubs be able to compete at a higher level in CCL type competitions. the NASL was a complete disaster by the early 80's and that is why there is a salary cap in MLS. i don't understand why people continue to complain about the very issue that allows this league to exist, the salary cap.
