Default Chelsea to play MLS All star game

“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

    -Eduardo Galeano

I would drive down to Philly for that but I bet tickets will be hard to come by. Just waiting for a Ticketmaster sale for them probably won't cut it.

I hate this whole friendly/all-star game concept in the middle of a long season.

I would be more excited to see Napoli then this years Chelsea.

I hate All-Star games in principle, and don't enjoy them in any sports - just a big waste of time, IMO. However, I think our league has grown enough to the extent that if we must have an all-star game, why not just go back to an East-West format? Or even a US vs. World type thing? Surely as our league has grown, there is enough talent from within our own league to be on display?

Can't wait for this one. They're also playing AC Milan in DC and Red Bull in Yankee Stadium, to which I might have to do a road trip with my buddies. It'll be huge, since Chelsea will have won the Champions' League by then..

    I dunno.

I think it boosts the rep of the league when a Euro team comes here and stumbles against MLS stars.

I think the players play for pride and it ends up being a decent game - not like other North American All-Star Games.

Up until last year the MLS AllStars had a decent record didn't they ?
a ha ha heh he hoo.. ha

As much as I am a Chelsea fan they could have certainly chosen a better team. That being said, most solid European teams will have some of their best players in Euro and/or the Olympics so perhaps they should have invited a team from South America to play up here this year.

Says Chelsea will play on a tour so for those waiting to drive down to Philthadelphia just wait and see if they're going to be closer or in a hood where you won't get jacked

ya the all stars have won most the games against teams from Mexico, Celtic, Fulham, i think Everton, West Ham, and also including already beating Chelsea before 1-0 from a Dero's very nice goal. He scored from very far out of the box. Was a nice shot!

Adidas are probably paying for the whole thing since they are doing their big tech roll out at the ASG. 90 minute infomercial. $$ makes the world go round.
