Default Montreal Away - Travel Information

We've come to realize that while the three groups have sold a lot of seats directly to members there are TFC fans who have purchased tickets in these sections and are planning to make their own arrangement. Knowing that Montreal Impact FO will not contact you about this we wanted to share with all TFC supporters the "rules" and timelines passed on by Montreal.

This is a big game and a lot of precautions are being taken; it's best to be with fellow supporters regardless of your group affiliation so definetly try to make the times and march with us.

The short end of the stick is the following

10:30AM - members check the members only travel section for details on pre-game arrangements.
11:00am - Meet security and Police at VIAU Metro Station. Walk in to the stadium as a Group. Police and security will have GATE A secure for TFC supporters.
Even if you are late arriving to the game, head to Gate A on the east side of the stadium.
    12:00pm - Kick off
Approx 2pm - Game over Final Whistle. Wait in seats for stadium to clear out a bit
Approx 2:25pm (25 to 30 mins after final whistle) - Police and Security will escort us out of our section to Station Viau.

    Now for the long story

    By Metro:
Supporters traveling by Metro are required to get off at VIAU Metro station marked by #1 on the plan below. Security and law enforcement will be assigned to escort you to “Entrance A” marked by #3 on the plan below by following the red line.

    - Intoxicated patrons will be denied entrance to the stadium.
    - The legal drinking age in Quebec is 18.

    Self Policing:
Security officers will be assigned to the top, bottom and aisles of the supporter areas. If supporter leadership proves effective, groups will be permitted to self-police their sections.

    SECURITY ASSIGNMENTS
    - There will be a police and security presence at all times throughout the event.
    - Whether arriving by metro, bus or car, police and security will insure that visiting team supporters with a supporter’s ticket gain access to the designated visiting supporter’s entrance.
    - Police and security will escort the group into the Olympic Stadium and directly to their section.
    - Visiting team supporters will have secluded access to all necessary amenities.
(We will have our own sectioned off facilities, mens washroom, ladies washroom, beer stand, concession.)

The Gameday Ops staff do not want us leaving our supporters section.
They will try to discourage you out of leaving it, but if you insist you can leave.
Unless you have a supporters ticket, you won't be able to enter this area.

At any time throughout the match, visiting team supporters are prohibited from exiting the secluded supporters section.

    - Security roam teams will be assigned to the concourse to watch for supporters accessing other areas.

    MONTREAL POLICE DEPARTMENT
Montreal police officers will be assigned to all supporter group areas. Police officers will assist in escorting the supporters to and from the metro station, parking lots and seating areas.

    - Guests throwing items onto the field of play are subject to ejection from the facility.
    - Guests that throw any other items will be ejected and possible arrest.
    - Guests involved in altercations will be subject to ejection and arrest.
    - Guests entering the field of play will be subject to ejection and arrest.
    - Certain individuals from the supporter groups have been permanently banned from attending MLS events. If any of the banned individuals are present at the game they will be subject to arrest.
The Impact Staff and MLS encourage supporters to review the MLS Code of Conduct at www.mlssoccer.com/fans/code-of-conduct
    Exiting after the game:
Visiting team supporters in sections 149, 151, 257, 259 and 261 will be held at least 25 minutes after the conclusion of the match. Once the exit has been secured, police and security will escort the visiting team supporters out of the stadium the same way they entered.
You will be able to wait in your seat, or in the sectioned off area.
At that point, we will be escorted out to Station VIAU by the Police and Impact Security.
Please do not be alarmed that we are being held behind. This is pretty standard procedure.

Some general final thoughts - for those that have attended this game in the past you know it can be a lot of fun and a great experience. Remember to use your heads throughout - security and police will be tough on this one and as anyone has seen Montreal police tend to not have patience (i.e university protests).

Be smart, stick together..and lets make the Big O feel like an away game.

note if you are not sitting in a supporters section you do not necessairly have to follow the items outlined above however based on past experience it is better to arrive with fellow supporters and head off to your seats then to arrive alone.

Quick question. I ended up buying my tickets through the box office and was told to pick them up on match day. Any word on what time they open the box office? I'd like to be a part of the march to the stadium so want to get them ahead of time.

For those going to Montreal, go to the sports bar Station Du Sports on Du Fort and St. Catherines. $17 for 4L pitchers, beer taps on the table, incredible food, TVs everywhere.. i really miss this place.

I did the same thing. Go with the march to the stadium, then go to the box office while there, its right at the main entrance. Enjoy the game
