JDG needs to retire. How did we manage to replace IRO with his mirror image in Aceval... WTF?! solid game blown with sloppy defence.

The speed of this forum is almost as frustrating as JDG screwing 2 games in less than a week.

Does De Guzman have any qualities ?
    No, I thought not.
He's handed Santos this game on a plate.......the dick.
Does he think no-one's watching when he does something stupid like that ?

The worst part of all this is that we gifted them this victory. TFC was in a firm position to advance but they defeated themselves on this night. I'm proud of their accomplishments in the CCL, but this is a very difficult loss to stomach based on the sequence of events that transpired tonight.

This game was lost when tfc gave up that 2nd goal just before halftime. There is no way they were going to win after that.

The match turned on that extremely, EXTREMELY lazy play by JDG. F**k, we were 45 minutes from hosting the Champions League Final and he's strolling about the box casually knocking players over. I don't think I have ever given up on a player. Until now.

Congrats on the run, TFC. Appreciate the memories.

Very tough to deal with after being on top in the first half and keeping up. But when you have players like JDG that lack character in big matches you lose. He is a loser. He has been a loser since he came here and has done nothing, at all, positive for this team. Aceval was brutal all night long too. But hes been here for two months. JDG? All these years later, its without dispute, he is shit, he will not bounce back, he never has bounced back whether its for Canada or TFC, ever since he left Spain, he has gotten worse to the point where my once favourite player, Im very sad to say, will always be the goat that cost us the biggest game in our history.

That last goal was just rude to Kocic. The defenders gave up and gave them the goal, lose with some pride ffs.

We shouldn't take it too hard on ourselves, atleast now we can concentrate on mls. I have to admit JDG is a waste of money, Dunfield isnt any better than Stinson, and Doneil Henry looked better than Harden

Thank you, TFC from the bottom of my heart. From the unexpected result in Dallas, and then the sheer delight of both games against LA.

I'd also like to say that the last week has been wonderful, too. For the hope that you gave us, and the dreams that we had, I am incredibly grateful.

And tonight, for being less than 45 minutes away from being in the Final, that was wonderful.

We'll always wonder what might have been if our Captain, our leader, our anchor and our inspiration had played.

But for taking us further than we ever thought possible?

    Thanks.

Playing poorly is one thing; quitting is something else entirely. JDG completely gave up in the last 10-15 minutes. He needs to ride the bench for a while, and should never ever wear the armband again.

That was douchey of Santos to score again. Be pros and take it to the corner.

I didn't expect us to score any goals in this game. I really enjoyed the first half. Soolsma, Plata and Eks were outstanding. Those penalties were unnecessary, especially the JDG one. I have been a JDG supporter for some time, but I have to say we can probably spend our money more intelligently elsewhere. Well done to TFC for getting us this far. Good on them. Let's focus on MLS results now.

Part of me is kind of relieved the CCL run is over, because I think the team hasn't been focused enough on league games, with these ostensibly "more important" competitions on their minds every week. Not playing every few days will do wonders for our readiness as a team, too.

But yeah - I still would have been fist pumping if we had made it though. And I think we looked terrific in the first half, even though I kind of knew Santos would come back hard in the second. JDG's penalty was pure stupidity, but I thought Aceval was a little unlucky on the second (hand to ball, or ball to hand?). And from then on, we simply looked shellshocked.

So thank you to the team for a string of gutsy performances in this competition, and one thoroughly entertaining half tonight. It's a shame we couldn't close it out the same way.

    - Scott
