Default Colin Clark, take a bow!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ3taEpptgg

Because really, there's nothing better than shouting bigoted obscenities at children.

He also issued a bullshit apology saying how he was oh so sorry (for getting caught.)

The league had to make a statement with this, which I'm sure everyone, player and team included, expected.

Colin Clarke deserves to be tarred and feathered.

Not only is it directed towards a young boy, but it's a hateful and homophobic slur. 3 games is a joke.

I am wondering if the ban is only 3 games because Houston has a light schedule up front. He won't be back to the pitch until May 9th I believe.

doesn't matter, doesn't matter in the least.
back at UTSC i was an ally of the SC:OUT community, and having spoken to people there i know a few who've been on the receiving end of violence while that word was being shouted at them. im not saying he's bigoted, but his comment sure was, not to mention.. directed at a kid? give me a break. i dont want to hear that "heat of the moment" shit. this isn't xbox live. im sure we've all been far more pissed off at one point or another and shown far more restraint than this twat.

you're an ambassador for the game and you shouted a gay slur (not to mention the fact that he fucking cursed) on the pitch toward a kid. what if he shouted a racial slur at the ballboy? or an insensitive remark towards the handicapped? this isn't black and white, he's not louis CK, and i think the sentence is a joke. 6 games, at least.

aside from the fact that he let his "emotions get the better of him" in the 9th minute of a fucking match in your second game of the season, i'd like to point out use of hateful language at a school or in the workplace would get you immediately dismissed with very few exceptions.

one of the big things i don't get, like.. really don't get, is that now that MLS has a network deal with NBC, are they not choosing to come down on this man harder?

By the standards they have established in the past, this is a stiff penalty. You can deliberately break a players leg and only get 1 or 2 games.

What it really says is that MLS has it's priorities wrong. I don't think Clark should be excused for his comment, but when this gets more games than a malicious attempt to injure another player, there's something wrong with the way the system is set up as a whole.

Do penalties need to be stiffened in general? Yes. Is the system borked as it is? Yes.

On a side note - this ball kid rules...!!!

Visiting player looks for the ball, just drops it at his feet - epic!

I say we do up a two-stick or something when we play them that says, "Hey, Colin, Leave Our Kids Alone."
