Default TFC @ Seattle pre-match thread

Both clubs played CCL matches on Wednesday, so both will be fatigued.

Seattle is a notoriously hard venue to get a win, but Seattle must be disheartened due to their 6-1 shellacking by Santos Laguna.

Match will be televised on Sportsnet One and on the Radio with the FAN590.

The way I view it, Seattle will be pissed for being embarrassed and will be looking to take it out on someone, while TFC is over the moon right now likely susceptible to a loss.

I'm just hoping for a draw.

The one potential factor that might help us is that this will be Seattles 4th game in 10 days, and our third.

Think it's a long shot that we get a result there though.

Hopefully... it was so refreshing to see Mayor Miller there last night... a reminder of how nice it would be to have an intelligent, level-headed individual at City Hall.

Seattle will still be shellshocked while we'll be riding a wave of confidence.

I think we should do it again, it'll be a blast.

I can only foresee a loss here. It's going to be a case of "after the lord mayors parade" for TFC - while Seattle are going to want to make an immediate impact after their humiliating loss. Seattle winning 2-0 or 3-1? I'd be amazed if TFC got it any closer than that.

    let's hope I'm wrong!

Interesting, I wonder if Winter took DeGuz, Plata, Koev (more later) off early in the CCL match to save them for Seattle, likewise inserting Silva late into the match. Although the later might be a case of not overwhelming the rookie. It wouldn't surprise me, as some of Winter's moves seem like head scratchers until you look at them in the big picture.

It's going to be a hard match as Seattle backline is at this time more solid than LAs. Yet our confidence is up.

I can see Avila playing, and not Silva in this one, anyways. I can see there being a fair bit of rotation of the squad for this game. We could see Hall, Emory, Stinson all playing a part, maybe Morgan, Harden, Johnson getting rests?

I said if we won last night, I wouldn't care what result we got in Seattle. But having said that, who says we can't go in there and get the W?

Seattle's going to be amped up in front of their season opener crowd. TFC will need to settle their emotions and focus for this game.

I could see it going either way, a hard-fought win/draw for TFC or an easy Seattle win.

A win would be great. Then we can say we would have beaten you in the CCL anyway had you not gone out and gotten raped by Santos Laguna.

Winter will play the best team,he wont let this momentum go,it doesn't make sense if we pushing for playoffs to let points go just like that.

3 games in 10 days,so what?Santos game is in 13 days plenty of time to recover.

We will pick up our first MLS2012 points in Seatlle.

remember how shit we were last year with gargan, peterson etc... we only lost 3-0 away. we are a much better team i think we might lose 2-1 this time.

think Morgan plays he's young and can run all day.....but wouldn't be surprised if Frings doesn't play much...JDG and Koevermans must play all day.....to get fit and wake up a bit. AND I'd star Frei of course so Kocic plays vs Santos.

I don't understand all this resting players for Santos.

Santos game is in 13 days and we have TWO GAMES before we play Santos. If we want to rest players rest them on 24th at home opener.

Nothing so extreme as sitting them but limited time to anyone who is gassed from Wed., limited time in the opener. I want everyone 100%. I think it will be a game focused more on our back line then anywhere else.

Yes, there actually is a game tomorrow, although you wouldn't know it from reading recent posts on the boards...
