I would argue good goalkeeping a lazy LA forwards. They were offside way more often than not. The linesman's decisions went both ways as LA had a couple of chances they shouldn't have.

On the officiating front - I was specifically referring to when Magee (I think) put it in the back of the net. That looked onside to me.

Agree that the crap decisions went both ways last night.

“Tonight's a disappointing night because we didn't expect to lose the game, we didn't think we were going to lose the game, we didn't want to lose the game, so we're disappointed.”

beckham speaking here. honestly.. it played like they underestimated us. even with the first game being the way it was, and the fact that they had just played on saturday, he says that they didn't think they were going to lose?

Will MLSE go for another big payday and have the game at the dome, or will they try to make the mexicans as uncomfortable as they can and play the game at BMO?

Maybe "accidentally" turn the sprinklers on at the north end as Santos is going through their pre-game warm up?

Wow, that ESPN article makes me want to punch my monitor. Some of the most biased garbage I've ever read. Surprised he managed to finish writing the thing, since it's pretty clear he burst into tears half way through the LA-TFC part.

even with that amazing, world reaching win. . . its still second page news in Toronto.

    It was a 10 p.m. game.

Front page Kessel column etc. was probably layed out way in advance.

Probably weren't saving P1 of sports for a 1 a.m. layout ... given they could have just as easily lost 3-0. Or what have you.

I can't imagine them being great - considering it was a 10pm start.

That is the biggest reason why it will be at BMO. The game is less than two weeks away and other than the game at the dome, we haven't even had enough to fill BMO for the previous CCL games. My guess - STHs get first crack at tix tomorrow (Friday - Sunday) and it opens up to the public on Monday.

I see more interest than the first leg on the game. Ppl are asking me if they'll play again in the Skydome, regular people not true fans. I think they did the job, on the field and off the field...football can be number 1 this summer!

Henry basically calls out his teammates (well, not really, but he's really frustrated)

Shall I make this its own thread, or post in here. CCL is more important than our opening game.

    Opening game lineup
Quilan Roberts (or an MLS rent-a-keeper)
Harden Maud Henry Cann (Cann needs a kick-about)
    Cordon Lambe Stinson Dunfield
    Soolsma Plata

DC really have no choice with the city not being cooperative right now.

Just wanted to mention, the location of the article in the Star is definitely related to the late game time. In fact, I believe the TFC article is only in the version available at news stands, which is printed a bit later. The paper for home delivery (which we get) didn't mention the TFC game, because the news obviously came too late for that printing. The article was fairly prominent on the Star website, at least for parts of today.

The TFC win was getting mentioned repeatedly on 680 News today, during the newscast (i.e., in addition to the sports news). Approximate story line was "at least one Toronto sports team is getting it done these days."
