There should be at least one Toronto FC player on the pitch for the Major League Soccer all-star game at BMO Field in Toronto on July 24, but he is the ubiquitous player to be named.
No Toronto players were in the MLS first XI — led by top vote-earners David Beckham and Landon Donovan of the Los Angeles Galaxy —that was announced at a news conference yesterday.

Toronto FC, meanwhile, waived Andrea Lombardo, who once was considered a rising Canadian star.

The 21-year-old forward -- previously a member of the Canada under-20 World Cup squad -- was acquired as a developmental player in 2007.

An MLS suspension for Blanco is not going to happen, though a U.S. Open Cup suspension should come down soon. And for those of you wondering, Chicago next faces D.C. United on Aug. 16th at Toyota Park. The Fire won't be returning to D.C. during the regular season, but as we have seen in recent years, there is always the post-season.

Gazidis said he would do little to try to reign in the behaviour of the streamer-happy faithful at BMO Field.
"We don't want to kill passion. In fact, quite the opposite," Gazidis said.
"So we're not banning streamers, but we are trying to work with the fans. This is largely a self-policing effort by the fans to make sure it doesn't go too far and doesn't impact what's going on on the field."

I don't see us throwing streamers or turning on the huge passion during the all-star game to impress all those watching considering the expected silent protest we're planning.
