If that's true, i really have no idea what's going on anymore. Not that i ever did. They could sign my slow ass for nothing to get into good scoring positions and miss the net.

I don't think Hesekey would be a terrible sighing, just more that it doesn't make much sense in the context of the kind of season TFC is having. He could be the kind of veteran player who could help a team scrapping for a play off spot. What's the best case scenario for TFC, he scores a few goals and makes a terrible season look a little better than it is and then moves on in the off season?

If there's any truth to this rumour, I would have though there'd be more press about, or at least a tweet or two from some of the locals. Like him or hate him, Hesekey's a big name.

BPL Talk's twitter saying it's imminent:

    BPL Talk ‏@BPLtalk
Breaking news: #Heskey has all but finalised his moved to the #MLS. The deal to #TorontoFC is expected to completed in the next few hours.

That's very interesting news indeed. Not a big fan of Heskey's, but a $100-150 contract for the rest of the season would probably be a pretty good deal for us. We would have more options up top. Fingers crossed. I'm guessing we'll hear before midnight then.

There's an article on the web indicating Blackpool offered him
£90 a week contract, so maybe a $100-150 would be too high:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2186920/Blackpool-close-Joey-Barton-loan-Emile-Heskey-rejects-90-week-offer.html

It's a strange one. I've seen one or two suggestions of him coming to the MLS before, but I just can't see it flying this far under the radar. Maybe it's just where we are in terms of interest?

Toronto FC have signed Emile Heskey on a free.

Need more sources before I believe this story.

I'm not sure how many MLS stories BPL Talk have broken, so I'm a little skeptical too. Hassli and Heskey would make an intimidating pairing.

Fuck no I hope this isn't true. Just when I thought this team couldn't get any worse. What a waste of money. Please no.

    Well, here's another tweet:

    BPL Talk ‏@BPLtalk
Breaking news: Toronto FC have signed Emile #Heskey on a free. It is reported that the striker has demanded $85k per week.
WTF, that would be over $4 million a year, right? Ha ha ha.

Makes no sense. Even if it's only for the last 10 or so weeks of our season. That would be $85,000*10=$850,000. DP? Umm, no. Must be per month.

^^ I think footie wages in the UK are usually reported per week though, right? Doesn't make any sense any way you look at it.

Maybe the $85k only have to be paid in weeks where he scores a goal...

yes $85K would be per week. Toronto could find a better striker for $85K a year.

This can only be possible if TFC mutually terminate Danny Kovermans contract?

Can anyone find an article online about this? It's only on this BPL Talk twitter account.

And the club would have THREE dp strikers over the age of 31. Sounds like a good use of limited resources... fuck this can't be true.

That article has to be a load of BS. 90k a week - no way. The big clubs are paying players those sorts of wages or less (not the big stars - but the next step down).

Heskey would be making more than guys like Chicharito on those wages.

I'll believe the TFC rumors when I see him sign though. Don't actually think he'd be half bad in this league though.

^ It's not 90k a week Blackpool was offering, it's £90 a week, so like $170 dollars a week to train with the team and try and earn a contract. I can see why Heskey would turn that down.

Ryan Johnson to Nottingham Forest for
£400,000. I did a search for Emile Heskey to Toronto and found that tidbit buried on one of webpages. I didn't look too official, sound I didn't bother linking to it. I'd file it under "maybe", I could see him doing okay there. I guess you could argue RJ's kind of a poor man's Robbie Findley and he's not exactly dominated at that level.

I figured the only way to make a deal with Heskey would be to move either R.Johnson or D.Williams. Good for RJ if this is true, but this move for Heskey is questionable and it reaks of Mo-like type of transfers. I guess the only good thing out of this is that we will now be certain the team will suck just as bad for the 2013 season.

BTW, what a dick move that would be to buy out Koevermans out of his contract when he is injured.

I've never seen O'Dea play but when a guy offers a quote like this:

"At the end of the day you need to want to … put your head where it hurts. Certainly I'll do that and I'll make sure everyone else is doing that."

... you can't help but look forward to seeing what he can do with a sense of optimism.

It seems talks between TFC and Paul Robinson have stalled. Robinson returned to UK looking for a club:
