This entire thread is full of far flung scenarios.
What this team needs more than star designated players is regular MLS guys who can do a job. Given, they won't be fun names we can throw around and have discussions about, but still...
Tossaint Rickett's move to Germany has been blocked.
Toronto FC should look to loan him in in my opinion.
Reports of a possible signing announcement tomorrow, according to the twitters.
@JohnMolinaro
Mariner says new player announcement on Thursday possibly. #TFC
hmmmm... interesting.
A big win, maybe a player tomorrow... Looking pretty good around here all of a sudden. I'm surprised there hasn't been more rumours floating around about who's coming in, in the context of DK injury and all the departures.
It seems Mariner got the bit wrong about getting $170k of Danny's cap hit back, from Twitter 5 hours ago:
John Molinaro @JohnMolinaro
1/2 My colleague @NeilMDavidson confirms with MLS: no salary cap relief for #TFC on Koevermans but the club...
John Molinaro @JohnMolinaro
2/2 ...does get an open spot for an additional international player & a DP for the rest of season. Must be back down to 3 DPs by next March.
John Molinaro @JohnMolinaro
So basically, #TFC still takes cap hit for Koevermans, but they get an extra spot for another international player and DP for 2012.
Watching FCD vs. SJ. Daniel Hernandez (vet central defender) has been held back from the squad tonight and not told why.
Que the speculation...
I think its says on the MLS Rules page that if a DP is injured and out for the season. The club is still on the hook for the half of the 350k that counts against the cap and the team can sign another DP and only have to pay half of the DP salary that counts against the cap which is 175k.
According to Mariner in the post game interview, he said that there MIGHT BE an announcement tomorrow to unveil a player, i wonder who it is or he's just trying to stall time?

Gazette dello sport reporting we are in negotiations with Inzaghi. Pretty sure that is a reliable source for Italian football. Paging Trane...
O, Maple Leaf around the world, You speak as you rise high above,
Of courage, peace and quiet strength, Of the Canada that I love.
Remind us all, our union bound by ties we cannot sever,
Bright flag revered on every ground, The Maple Leaf forever
^ or the player to fly in from wherever he is.
apparently we are signing Quincy Amarikwa
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quincy_Amarikwa
John Molinaro is reporting it via twitter.
A guy drafted in a draft round that doesn't even exist anymore, who was cut by the team we just humped.
ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz................ ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I hope that's not the only signing. I am hoping for a Swedish CB, a Canadian CB, an italian striker, and that guy. Really, how much can Quincy actually make - half the season left - $20K??
Amarikwa has 4 goals in 56 appearances in MLS...This guy will tear this league apart...crickets....
Makes sense to me. We need back-up in case Wiedeman goes down.
Now I just have to decide which name to put on the back of my shirt.
[heads to Banner and Chants section to start thread on the need for Amarikwa / Wiedeman love]
a ha ha heh he hoo.. ha
that is not a signing, that is a joke
must mean we are getting a CB DP?
typical tfc front office crap, signing mls rejects,hi MO,are you still here.
they charge epl prices and sign mls rejects, they have seen the last of money.
Only 7 starts though, so you can't really judge his record by that. Or you could say he's scored 4 goals in just 7 starts (and then 49 sub apps coming on late in games?).
I'd just seal the deal for a depth forward anyway right now. Imagine Johnson now getting injured? We need all the depth we can get up front, even if it is just a backup journeyman.
Amarikwa? Seriously? I mean.. I guess Wiedeman is working out..lol
