Boa Morte will tear this league up......
Boa Morte will tear this league up......
On trial so the TFC Academy kids can watch him play in Reserves games might not be a bad idea. Singing him would be a massive mistake.
Afte commenting on this old prick trialing. I googled a guy that I think would beat the shit out of Eric Hassli........ it turns out he is out of contract.......right now.
Andre Amougou...............CB/DM
Also known as Andre Bikey.....Boooom!
We can't really comment on the Boa Morte deal without knowing the specifics.
What is salary?
How does it fit into the cap?
What is the opportunity cost of signing him?
We also need to see what he has left in terms of legs and desire.
The guy might be willing to play for 100k for all we know.
EDIT: According to Larson on twitter, Winter said "We can get him for almost nothing".
Would you still say no to taking a punt at near league minimum? At that, even if only as a late game sub you have to think it's worth a gamble.

I doubt they'll reach terms with him, although you never know. He's probably not fast enough to play wide any more, although his distribution and shot in the centre would be appreciated.
We have a cap, though. It wouldn't be anything like JDG's deal or it won't be possible.
Just thought I would say it before someone else did used to be the theme around here every player rumored to come here would tear this league up. I do not actually think he would tear this league up
I'm torn. Normally, I think "we" should take a wait and see view on everyone the team looks at. But in terms of where the team is and what can reasonably accomplished this year, I'm not sure we should be looking at older veteran type. I'd like this kind of move if they felt Boa Morte could make the difference in a playoff push, but in the context of our season, I'd like see to see us go for some players with more of a future in the game.
for fuck sakes, we've got Duncefield playing almost every single game. I don't give a fuck if he's lost a step or even if he's one tenth the player he once was, he'll still be better than Dunfield (who's career peaked when he was a kid at Man Shitty and played in the fourth tier of English football for his entire career before going to the Shitecaps). If he's cheap, what the hell are we waiting for? Get him a quad number and throw him out there!
Queens Park Rangers 31 year old cb Danny Shittu, will now be on the lookout for a new club.
trial him he is in the same price range as boa but younger.
The market's going to be flooded with Championship and League One teams doing their annual clear outs. I can't help but wonder if they've got any one else on trial, maybe Boa Morte is only one who leaked out. I know under the MoJo regime, they had players trialing / training with the team almost non-stop.
This is how bad the economy is in europe? Dang desperate times
The guy is probably at home scratching his ass, so he might aswell make a few dollars and have a free vacation.
For all we know this guy couldnt afford to fly out of South Africa on his own dime. Still better than "fan on the ball" dunfield

Reeks of desperation.
Shittu would do a job in this league, I'm fairly sure.
As for Bikey - I always rated him at Reading - but he seems to have a bit of a screw loose/temper issue if I remember correctly. He's got tallent, but I'm not sure if its a good idea to bring in a hot headed guy into an already fractious atmosphere.

employer like emplyees with debts to pay.
keeps them from jumping ship
I think, in a league of 36 year old's, we'd be crazy not to sign him for the rest of the year, at least.
QPR want Joey Barton out He'd red card this league apart.
Shame he's on something like 70,000 a week. Id kill for one of those LA Galaxy magical extra designated player slots.
hes got striker instincts
but we need midfield help. ie a bag of balls instead of dunfield
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
-Eduardo Galeano
My neighbour knows people who are always in the know with TFC but he never tells me his sources. He has almost never been wrong. I told him the other day "what do you think about Boa Morte on trial?" He replies "they have 3 guys on trial right now not just Boa Morte. They will sign a couple guys in the break after the Philly game." Just speculation as always until confirmed but like I said he is usually right. Anything can fall through between now and then though. I wonder who the other guys are. I guess they would be named in this thread if anyone knew.
Yeah, Beckerman would probably be the only example of someone like that in this league. MLS is a scorer's league right now, no team is more interested in stopping the ball going into their net than scoring, which is exemplified by the abundance of attacking DP's (it doesn't help that most of the few DM's that have been tagged as DP's have failed) AND the fact that the best team in this league has a goal differential of 11 at this moment (only allowing 6 less goals than TFC)
