Corradi to join Ferrari at Impact
    By Football Italia staff

Former Italian international Bernardo Corradi is on the verge of signing for MLS outfit Montreal Impact.
Corradi, two goals in 13 caps for Italy, is very close to signing a contract with the Canadian club where he will team up with defender Matteo Ferrari.
The almost 36-year-old has been without a club since his contract at Udinese expired in June 2011.
The former Chievo, Inter, Parma, Manchester City and Lazio man trained with Lega Pro side Monza this season before flying out for a trial with Impact in late February.

Montreal is really going with a veteran laden squad to try to have immediate success in the league. It's too much of a short term approach for my liking, but Saputo knows the Montreal fan base will not support a long term rebuild if it means having a non competitive club for a few years.

I have to question how much cheese man has his hands on the operation. I don't think Marsch started in his head with this current list of players they are pursuing.

Needless to say, I hope it works out for them (except against us) because Canada really needs a few healthy clubs.

Haven't seen too many Italians in the league, I think it is an interesting approach, especially if and when more clubs over there have money issues.

Montreal is the only MLS side owned by an Italian. Coincidence? I think not.
MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto

I'm not sure people here realize how bad Ballack has become. He's been a shell of his former self since joining Chelsea, but he's horrible now. The German team and his club team have tried to organize cermemonials for him just to get him to retire with some class. Instead he takes shots at everyone around him. If an MLS team actually takes him as a DP they're being taken for a ride.

Ballack should STFU and go play in Middle East or China already

    http://www.mercurynews.com/earthquak...ng-trade-limbo

Canadian defender Nana Attakora has blamed the Earthquakes for holding back his professional career in another reminder that last summer's blockbuster trade with Toronto FC has not gone well.

In an interview Tuesday night with Sportsnet.ca., Attakora blasted Quakes management for making it difficult to move on to another Major League Soccer team while retaining his rights.

"San Jose is very frustrating," he said. "They just wanted too much and no team was willing to do it, especially as they had no guarantees that I would re-sign with them because of my contract situation."

The Earthquakes confirmed Wednesday that they are actively trying to trade the center back. A club spokesman also said the team had offered Attakora a new contract during the offseason.

But team officials declined to say anything else about the player's comments. Attakora's agent did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
