Dominant performance by TFC in their first match against MLS opposition. The 3-0 scoreline was flattering to Dallas.
It was like deja vu.

oleoleoleole oel oel !!!!!!!!
Good on the Reds
Remember The Man, The Legend, The Goal 5-12-07 and All That #9 Left On The Pitch, Thanks For The Memories !!!
Undefeated!!!!! 8 Goals For 3 Against! Hell Yeah
I know that this is just pre season experimentation for Winter and Co, but at least we have been able to put the ball in the net.
Next game will be on espn3, won't be able to watch it :/ Maybe some pirate streams will appear.
Might be tough to make the final cuts. Some of the trialists have been solid, especially Orozco and Green.
Surprised and disappointed that we haven't seen Vukovic yet.
How many spots are open
^^
Having to make tough decisions is a good problem to have. Having competition for playing time should help push each individual on the team.
TFC should have a few legitimate scoring threats up front this season in Koevs, Plata, Johnson, and Silva.
I was unable to watch again due to the time but reading this thread i would have sworn that we sucked ass and were losing......until the last few posts.
Glad we got another win. 5 days until Skydom.
Lobo, remember this was very much a second stringer Dallas squad....so real tests to come for our back line. I'm not negating the result, just painting a bigger picture.
Silva looks to be the real deal! Excitement level doubles for Wednesday.
Well for those wondering if we sucked... for the first 30 minutes it was not great. Dallas basically marked everyone they could very tight, and closed down very well. It caused a lot of issues, and no one in the mid field could make anything work.
Then around 30 minutes it started to change.
There are problems, by late April things should look very good...
I'm a little worried about the March 7th game but not very.
I never really got that impression from Winter but at the same time, he's not going to say something unencouraging about a new signing.
That said, Lambe is a Mariner signing so let's give credit (or discredit) where it's due. Mariner got us Ecks! Thank you. Mariner has gotten us Lambe. The jury is deliberating. My current thinking is that he's a bit of an Andy Welsh but we shall see for ourselves soon enough.
Its way too early to judge Lambe. Give him at least a month of MLS playing time before we can tell what he's going to be like - that goes for any of the new signings.
Just like a loss in the preseason - meh.
Good to see Silva playing well though. Trying to focus more on individual performance than team performance at this point.
Silva looked good today. I have to say there is a little hope. One game absent and one game influential. Lets hope he continues that when it counts.
Lambe is a fast player but he rarely made a positive contribution I thought.
I wonder if they will bring someone in to back up DK full time. I dont know if he will be able to handle the grind of playing down in hot July weather when the first teamers are out with injury or international play and the ankle kickers come out in full effect.
I think you are spot on about the team performance, really hard to see how the team performed as it was so fractured with all the subs, that said I agree with Borg that there seemed to be a bit of connection with Plata and Silva.
It is a shame that the CCL game is next week it almost gets in the way of the season's preparation, yet it might just be a really good set of games to mold the team.
The question is now which trialists make the cut, and who plays this weekend.
TFC twitter is saying some coaches and players are returning early to Toronto tomorrow. Expect mostly academy and trialist players on Saturday.
yeah that is some bullshit.
"TFC will play the Vancouver Whitecaps, who blazed through the group stage, in the championship match on Saturday at 8 pm ET. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN 3 (at this time unavailable in Canada)."
Really hope we can see this online somewhere. I guess they didn't exspect two Canadian teams to make the final.
awesome world classic if only one country gets to see the final, and neither team is from that country... good work... Ya they really didn't expect two Canadians teams to fight it out.... at least it won't be most of the starters.
Interesting if Avilia gets to play it will be the second year in a row that he's been in the final match... and last year if was FC Dallas vs Houston for the first place match... this year they are playing each other again but for the third place spot.

yes, sure no shea and ferreira, but we were without some of our keys also .. well in the 2nd half it was mostly our reserves and trialists against theirs, and we did well defensively, so i like to see that optimistically as an indication of good defending from the team overall
This was a welcome an improvement over last years's pre-season, when TFC were sheepishly back-passing to Frei at every opportunity. Even though there were subs aplenty and Dallas was flaccid, we looked like a team.
Amazing how people are ready to RUBBISH players based on a one or two games PRE-SEASON performances...Remeber Plata took quite a while to get going...sheeesh...Give it a rest!!
