Fuck that cunt, he and his butt buddy landy are coming to hell on March 7th.
Great for the league. Before the offseason I thought for sure he would go to PSG but I guess family plays a bigger part than I thought.
excellant! now we can unleash the pink streamers at skydome!
A lot of people said Beckham was irrelevant and who cares if he comes back?
Now "everyone" is excited.
Someone please help me here. If he's a great player, I'd rather we not have to play against him. If he's lost a step, who cares?
MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto
how long before tfc rolls out the new ad campaign for the big game?
go on home, David Beckham go on home,
have you got no fuckin home of your own?
for the last gone five years,
we've been given you the gears,
and we'll be given em to you eight hundred more.

Excellent for the MLS. Pity he will only be in Toronto once this season, but oh well. Cue the screaming girlies at Rogers Centre for sure now!
Ok, stepping out of partisan concerns for a moment. We've just seen Beckham have the opportunity to play in Europe at top wages and turn it down to continue his time in LA. I am certain that will not go unnoticed among many top players. I'm not saying that Messi is going to drop what he is doing to play for San Jose. But it does say that DB likes it here, likes the league and his celebrity family likes it here. That is bound to create some positive vibe for MLS. If that helps other MLS teams get a hearing from top agents and top talent, even better.
That having been said, I say let's build a bonfire and put LA on the top...
Honestly I don't much care for him being with LA makes things more difficult for us. But honestly if in the season before Gretzky last Olympics I had a chance to see him play I'd be excited.
I am always up for watching the big names, I will never forget going to Gretzky's first game with the Kings at the Gardens. For a lot of people in the city, the reason to go is now their, to see Becks in person, which is fine everyone has their reasons for going to things.

Gretzky was atop of the list of hockey players to play the game...Beckham should never ever be compared to such elite greatness! Beckham is barley on the 200 of all time footballers
Its good for the MLS, and its good for the upcoming game. I know we can deal with this, so bring it on!
If you truly need to see what makes Becks great, watch this. Regardless of what you think of him, this is truely special to watch.

becks signing with LA...what a complete shock out of left field!
detroit: it's not the MLS he wanted to stay in, it's LA. i doubt that you'll find a whole lot of star players willing to make the jump to an area that isn't NY/LA, those are huge markets for players to immerse themselves in. anyways, anyone else think he's going to be moving into a management role with them after his contracts up with LA?

I'm pretty confident this was the best option for Becks but was not by any means his first choice. He would've rather win every year he was here and meet his old clubs in the WCC while making MLS at least the 3rd most watched sport behind NFL and MLB in the USA.
Instead he had enough success here to keep fans here watching and created enough new fans to make a startling number of new fans.
I'd think if it were up to David alone he'd finish at United or a spell at Spurs. PSG made sense for him. A new country for the Beckham Experiment and Posh shopping but I actually believe THIS time he stayed for the kids (and BrandPosh won't work in gai Paris). He's whole hog MLS now. I wouldn't be surprised to see Team Becks enter MLS soon and we'll see a new phase du Beckham.

The press conference will be live online at 5 pm eastern if anyone is interested. Good to see Becks stay in the MLS.
Beckham the person and Becks the brand are two very different people so I think a lot of the time he gets pulled in different directions with the Brand winning out, this time it appears the person won out.

“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
-Eduardo Galeano
I completely agree, when you get past the persona and the brand he is still an everyday lad from East London.

The Google stuff today was ridiculous. It was Beckham the Brand ++ today. It made me ill.
I do think Beckham the family man is legit though.
