16 groups of four that's 64 goals. There were only 34 weeks so wouldn't they just give you the goal of the week winner to choose from? 34 goals?

A lot of the goal of the week winners won because fans vote for their player, not the best goal. IMO, having the 32 GOTYs and 32 honorable mentions is the way to do it. Makes sure that all the good goals (that could win) make it in.

    best goals of this year
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

Only Alan Gordon's goal versus LA made the 2nd round.

I am still leaning towards Hassli's goal as my favourite.

I think Hassli's is still the best of the year and though it is sacrilegious to say so but Brek Shea's goal is up there too.

i did enjoy martinas. its a shame to see people voting for their favourite player or team and not their favourite goal.
