Rumours going around that Portland is going to sign a 19 year old (well turning 20 next month) to a DP contract.

Any South American fans know anything about this?
It's an interesting move. FCD has a young Columbian kids on the books too as a DP, but his pedigree looks to be less (no full caps for the nats).
I couldn't find much information on his club career, but he'd be coming in with less of a track record than someone like Montero.
boswell resigned with houston, bummer, woulda liked him at TFC
Montreal in talks with Patrice Bernier. Would fill in that DM role nicely for them

So who the heck is Marriner scouting in the Ukraine? He's in Kiev today, according to a story on TFC's site.
Bobby Convey from SJ to SKC for an international slot. My first reaction is that's a good deal for both Convey and SKC, Convey was languishing at SJ, SKC gets some veteran experience. However, some have questioned if he's a good fit for the type of team Vermes is building.
Montreal Has confirmed talks with Anelka:

I don't understand this. Can't Chelsea get paid a transfer by someone if they move him in January? He must still have some transfer value, even for half a year. Tell me Juve or Inter couldn't use him as a rental, as a for instance.
If it's true, I hope Montreal does some research on what happened with Anelka in Paris. Putting him in a hard-partying, french speaking big city seems like a mistake to me.
(Actually I hope they don't. Sign him up!)

“What the world needs is more geniuses with humility; there are so few of us left.”
not to mention his attitude + joey saputos attitude = disaster
^^^Shevchenko...How old is he now? 35-36?
Anelka will not join Montreal Impact
I've read articles that state there's an asian club who has offered a 9 million dollar contract, andAnzhi Makhachkala (The russian club who bought Samuel Eto'o and offered him a gigantic 10m per season.) So I don't see how its possible that Anelka would get a better offer from Montreal.
On a side note: Mariner scouting Shevchenko in Kiev

Reports say Shalrie Joseph as re-signed with New England as DP. Probably means DeRo will finally get his DP label too.
Bobby Convey also traded to SKC by SJ for an int spot. Apparently Convey will make less than 200k next year
