Default Pre-match/match/postmatch thread: Dallas @ Tauro

    match on CONCACAF TV: http://www.concacaftv.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Home

    8PM Wednesday.

    Cheering for Tauro.

If Tauro wins or if there is a tie, TFC needs to beat FC Dallas.

If Dallas wins, TFC needs to win and get at least 2 goals.

    CCL preview here:

    http://www.mlssoccer.com/ccl/news/ar...h-energy-tauro

Dallas tied Tauro 1-1 at home. Now they are playing them away while missing 4 starters. Tauro has nothing to play for but pride.

You can't underestimate Tauro at home not only on their scoring chances but on how many suspensions Dallas will be pick up for their final game.

Prediction: Tauro takes it 2-1. 6 yellows for Dallas.

Shea is out on suspension tonight as well as 3 other Dallas players were left behind.

Interesting to read that FC Dallas booked a charter and sold 50 seats to season ticket holders to fly down.

^ Good on there FO. That shows how serious they are about there support. Good for the leauge. Plus gives the players atleast the thought that they are playing infront of there fans and the added pressure to perform well. Hopefully they crack under the pressure.

Well,if Tauro wins tonight and next game vs Pumas, they will end up 2nd with 8 points regardless of TFC -Dallas game,no?

if 50 people have that effect. then by that logic RPB causes far more pressure and a greater propensity to crack by existing.

    Well done.

It's too bad Shea et al are suspended for this game. TFC needs all the help it can get against Dallas. Hopefully some more of their players pick up cards tonight.

It's different when your coming from a half full stadium in Dallas to an away stadium where the support will be 2-3 times better than in Dallas. To atleast have some fans present and with the team on the flight as well it has an effect.

Yep, they are certainly alive still, although a daunting task to win their last game.

Either way, they still have something to play for and I expect them to give Dallas some trouble.

Looking at this group going in and the struggles our club were (and often still are) having, especially defensively, I think if we would have asked ourselves back in July/August would we take having our destiny still in our hands going into the sixth game would we take it?

I know I certainly would have. I and many others said going into this group stage that we would need ten points to qualify and here we are, seven points in five games with one remaining.

After we hopefully kick the shit further out of the fucking Red Bulls playoffs chances on Saturday the boys have two weeks between that game and Philly away and then the big game in Texas. Lots of time to practice, watch game tape and generally be fresh and ready for Dallas.

Dallas has three games in the same stretch where TFC have two starting on October 1st and they of course have MLS playoffs and a shitty little run of form lately to worry about as well. And who knows... maybe Hyndman might just look at tonight in Panama and say fuck it and rest his best for Colorado on Saturday and take his chances on not losing straight up to TFC next month.

I for one am very very proud of my TFC today. Prouder than I have been all season actually.

For what its worth, Tauro is doing very well in league play this season. They're 19 points in 10 games, good for 3rd in the league with a game in hand.
    http://www.futbolextremo.com/es/ligas.html

At home in league play, they're 3-1-1. They've beaten 2nd place San Francisco at home and drawn league-leading Sporting.
At home in their last 5, they're L-W-D-W-L <--- with the first loss coming to TFC and the draw against Pumas (figure that one out, eh?)
    http://www.soccerway.com/teams/panama/tauro-fc/

This is the betting line at SportingBet.com:
    Tauro 3.2 Draw 3.3 FCD 2.05
This could be swayed by American money going to FCD, making their odds seem better than they actually are, but, again, this is for what its worth.

true, tauro wins both games, they'll be tied with pumas on 8 and have the tiebreaker over pumas. then if tfc win, it'll be tfc with 10 and tauro in 2nd with 8.

where it could get interesting is if tauro win both and tfc/dallas tie. then everyone's got 8 points. for tfc's -3 gd to qualify, we'd need tauro to beat dallas by 4 and pumas by 9. that's how I want this to go down.
