TFC Lose at RSL in a Game They Might Have Deserved Better From
http://viewfromthesouthstands.com/20...c-lose-at-rsl/
My post game video blog thoughts from TFC's heartbreaking loss in the last seconds of injury time at Salt Lake City Saturday night.
we need a hero.
a lot of good signs in that game, but the same old bad defence and lack of mental strength killed us again.

Gut check time. where do we go from here, as fans/supporters?
Playing catch-up makes TFC look better.
been feeling like tfc are playing ok recently, creating chances, looking good going forward, and deserve better then 0-7? check out some stats. a) tfc have been trailing 71% of the time, which is a big factor as to why we look better than the other team at times, we have to attack and create, they usually don't.
181 minutes so far in mls tfc's games have been tied, with both teams theoretically trying just as hard to score a goal. almost exactly 2 games worth. combined score in that time? tfc 1 - everyone else 10.

Usual preview pieces up now
Know your enemy, looking at impact formations, form, tactics etc.
How you doin'? q and a with montreal blogger
and a more tfc focused preview, wondering what kind of team Winter's going to put out there, will we see experimentation, or an A team and some much needed continuity?
Here are a couple.
We have more Canadian players combined than MTL and VAN, yet joined VAN in asking for the quota to be lowered. Considering development in this country, is this our achillies heel?

Winter, Johnson and Avila all claim that Toronto FC is better than the Impact. Are they nuts? Or is this strange view in light of reality actually a sign of something positive brewing? I weigh in with references to a prominent Sports Psychologist to speculate as to what may really be going on:

I hate myself for loving this.
we parked the bus, which is ok, but really didn't do a good job of it, and can thank luck, kocic and a poor impact team for getting the 0-0. But hey, a result's a result, baby steps.
I know everyone hate's Duane Rollins, but he's been doing a good job of late cover the mess that is TFC's FO. Here's another good article from him:

Unbearable. the post game interviews really told the story of saturday's game.
but hey the academy teams both won, so that's something.
And for that mess that you have seen over 5 years, just how much more are you paying than the average MLS ticket prices by vantage point @ BMO?
http://www.sportsnet.ca/fanfuel/2012...ticket_prices/
Feels good doesn't it?
As a footnote to the blog, while I compared TFC prices to average prices by vantage point it is worth noting that TFC prices are amongst the highest in the league. This is where the team's pricing per game ranks by vantage point in the league:
Club Seats - 3rd
Center Line - 2nd
Off Center Line - 1st
Corner Seats - 2nd
North End Seats - 1st
Supporters - 1st
Ten Reasons Why I Should Be the Head Coach

Just thought I would throw mine up here. It isn't TFC or MLS specific. Really it is just Toronto specific.
This post was very much about MLS though... http://tosportingpost.blogspot.ca/20...nalsim-or.html
TFC Bunkers At Home - Loses Eighth Straight
http://viewfromthesouthstands.com/20...ighth-straight
Some plaudits for Julian de Guzman, who played very well Saturday past as TFC lost its eighth straight MLS League tilt, including four shutouts at home. I try and (unsuccessfully) understand Aron Winter's tactics plus I set up Wednesday's key fixture against Montreal in the V-Cup which might turn out to be a watershed moment for this team.
Plus some interesting video of DeRo and JdG at the end of the game.
Thanks!
I have slowed down writing for it in the past few months, having been busy with a move and a new job, but I definitely intend to keep writing for it. It is a bit of catharsis. And it helps me keep from getting banned on message boards when I can vent on my own blog.
Hall the topic of Aron Winter's praise
When Toronto FC picked up Hall from FC Dallas over the offseason, not much was known about the fullback, who has three MLS seasons to his name already. He came in, injured, and has been working steadily to regain fitness. He’s back, now, and working towards a regular spot.
“I’m just trying to find the pace of the game,” said Hall. “It’s my first game coming back from injury and I’m still not 100 per cent fit where I want to be, especially in the position that I play in, and the way I play, I like to get up and down the field, so I still have a ways to go, but definitely a progression.”
“Physically I feel great,” Hall continued. “Fitness-wise I still think I have a ways to go. I’ve been working hard with the trainers to get back my fitness, in the gym. It’s just game fitness; I need to gain some fitness. I think there’s a couple reserve games lined up so hopefully I get some minutes.”

forgot all about linking pre game stuff, but here's my report on the win. 2-0, oh so many surprises out there last night.
What does last night's win say about our future?
Probably absolutely nothing of a predictive nature. But that doesn't mean it wasn't special.
