This week, Toronto FC and the Montreal Impact both signed new coaches from New Zealand and Switzerland respectively - my latest for RedNation examines the history of foreign coaches in MLS, and highlights key successes - and failures - in their attempts to figure out our league.

Big scoop from Duane on how much BMO Field makes:

    http://www.canadiansoccernews.com/co...-Field-rake-in

Interesting fact: lower attendance cost ML$E $5,000 in concession sales for the year ending June 30th. That's out of a profit of $453,000. Of course, attendance did worse later in the year, so the 2013 numbers would be interesting, if they could be obtained.

Toronto FC another victim of Canada's Selfish Generation

    http://www.wakingthered.com/2013/1/1...ish-generation
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

To follow that up, Aaron was impressed with Toronto's Supplemental draft and notes there are still some decent players left untouched after the last week.

Sandor from The11.ca has a great article about Toronto's eat-our-own mentality:
TFC gets a lot of good news, but does its fan base even know how to deal with good news?

I agree with him for the most part, but the attitude in Toronto is never going to change unless we win a championship or even make the damn playoffs at the very least. Look how quick we were to embrace the Argos during the recent cup run.

    Good article.
I think it needs more than a one-off win. Back-to-back World Series wins by the Jays changed things for a while. However, depression is the normal state of things for any Toronto fan. Hopefully Bogers will turn that around.

Stefan Frei Returns to Action for Toronto FC in 2013

    http://www.rednationonline.ca/Articl...TorontoFC.aspx

For Braun, Bendik and Agbossoumonde, Toronto FC Provides a Fresh Start

    http://www.rednationonline.ca/Articl...reshstart.aspx

“Any club you come in to, you want to establish yourself, you wanna go out there and prove to the coaches that you can be the guy that’s going to be able to help the team win, so that’s what I’m coming in here to do,” said Braun. “Obviously last year was a little bit of a disappointment for me, so I’m looking forward to getting back on track and getting to where I know I’m capable of playing.” read more...

I ended up doing mine manually because I couldn't find anything automatic. It essentially just boils down to getting the RSS formatting correct. If you want to do that I can probably find the original sources to explain how to do it.

I do see that you are using Weebly. I know they have a RSS feed reader built in that you could use but no RSS generator?

It's already using the automatic generator. I can't even customize the colors... notice they're blue. Would be nice if they were red.

You can PM me if you like but just quickly; depending on how comfortable you are with CSS, you can probably edit either the CSS being used for the RSS or the default CSS which handles links. Short of that you you would have to insert a custom code snippet.

It was a dirty deed, done dirt cheap -- but it was necessary. WTR's recap of last night's USA-Canada match.
