Not Toronto FC based this week but visit www.jimmystone.wordpress.com to read my views on play-offs. Will be continuing writing about TFC next week and before the play-offs end.

    The Hundred Days

    http://viewfromthesouthstands.com/20...-hundred-days/

I ask in this post season look back of the season that was for Toronto FC, what might have been if MLSE had not wasted most of "the hundred days" between firing Mo Johnston and hiring Aron Winter.

I stopped reading newspapers because quite frankly all they write is negative bullshit. Both the Toronto Star and Toronto Sun add nothing to the soccer scene in this city and they don't get any of my attention. These guys don't get a single click or newspaper read from me. Thank you for calling him out.

Also thanks to everyone in here who blogs about the team. While I don't always agree with your views I still find the blogs by you guys the best place to go if I want to read about TFC.

    Thanks everyone.
Agreed. "Professional" writers tend to be jaded, and over rated.

Jewels. New strip now up at East Side Stand Up!

Also, I am interested to know how people feel about me posting links to new strips, which aren't directly related to TFC. As I go forward I'm going to broaden what the strips are about but if people don't want to know about non-TFC strips, I'm OK with that. I can just update the old Twitter and RSS feed.

MLS related strips are still relevant IMO.
MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto

    I'm cool with it.

Is there a reason why your recent strips are black and white?

The main reason is time. Believe it or not, colouring adds quite a bit to it. I've found that it takes me about half the time to do them in just black and white.

And with the extra time, I would like to do more strips, more often.

So right now I'm experimenting with it. Of course if the strips aren't working as well, that kind of trumps everything and I'll go back to colour.

I think they work fine in black and white so long as we don't have to distinguish between fans/players of various teams.

Keep up the great work Paul!

a final review of the 2011 season. Just on it's own, a shit sandwich. In the grand scheme of things, this is when we started to do things right.

All in all, a good year.

What about partial colouring? Splashes of colour (ala Frank Miller in Sin City). Primarily black and white, but occasional uses of colour to differentiate...

The TFC top 40 countdown begins. We used 40 players, they've been ranked 1-40, every day for the next 40 days, i'll be counting down from the crappest to the best, and profiling that player. today...

    Number 40, Leandre Griffit.

www.jimmystone.wordpress.com A bewildered Englishman trying to get to grips with Major League Soccer. Series continues with "Natural Disasters FC". This week I explain why I think Toronto will be MLS Cup winners in 2012.
