After a particularly tough day at the office for the TFC back line, a few thoughts on a player that Toronto FC should be looking into bringing to the team.

back to reality
tough loss, but not really about coaching or players doing poorly, though both certainly had issues, more about the failure to build a squad that can handle so many games. 7 points in 7 games is about right really with the current bunch.
Do you really think constant starters like Dunfield, Lambe, Emory, Hall and Avila are that much better than Stinson, Soolsma, DeGuzman, Silva and Williams? I don't see much difference in quality so I don't know why he doesn't use his full squad to keep the players fresh. To complain about a congested schedule and then never change your XI is stupid. The season is already done and Mariner is just trying to pad his stats in the short term rather than move this team forward.
TFC Back To Losing Ways On The Road
http://viewfromthesouthstands.com/2012/07/losing-ways/
When you are playing the same starting eleven game after game on three days rest this is what happens as TFC loses 3-0 to Philly
In this video look back at the game I talk about the likely end of the Richard Eckersley at Centre Back experiment, how the brutal two games a week schedule is exposing for all to see the true lack of depth on this team and I address the increasing apathy that we are starting to see in the support around this team.
Not good enough.
TFC's short term fix needs some duct tape. Results under Mariner will not see MLSE realize its goal of promising hope at season ticket renewal time:

“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
-Eduardo Galeano
Pre game previews, this could be a dull one, so let's hope for a feisty edge.

Anselmi's Reds: Taking a Step Backwards?
I look at the movement to adopt Klinsmann's model with the US Soccer Federation and all aspects of its development program. Their competitive, perfectionistic state is moving all of its resources into the plan we had but abandoned. What does it say about the future prospects for this team? I get why we traded for Hassli. What I don't get is why now?

I agree with almost all of this.
The lack of contingency planning is pretty striking. Is it really so shocking that Koevs, a 33 year old with an injury history that was being used like a rented mule, went down?
I really don't understand why we can't just sign the best available DP striker, and keep the first round draft pick.

Hassli is NOT Koevermans Replacement so could this turn out to be the worst deal ever if Hassli becomes a rental or a scary tandem for 2013?

Lacklustre Home Loss – TFC 0 – Dynamo 2
http://viewfromthesouthstands.com/2012/07/lacklustre/
Some brief video thoughts on a lacklustre display Saturday past by Toronto FC at home versus Houston Dynamo that saw TFC go down to defeat 2-nil at home. I also address the recent controversy surrounding TFC Front Office staffer Earl Cochrane and take a look ahead to the possible debut of Eric Hassli on Champions League night this coming Wednesday.
