“It’s going to be a battle,” Marshall said. “He’s obviously dangerous on set pieces. He’s a big body. He’s scored a lot of goals for us. He’ll be looking to do the same for them. I’m sure he’ll be highly motivated to come back and play against his old team.

"Iro has received unprecedented amounts of scrutiny for countless blunders that continue to grab headlines. From bad penalties to defensive gaffes, the towering Englishman — along with the rest of TFC’s defence — continues to chase a complete performance."

Writers can choose their angles. Ignoring Iro's gaffes in the first one and ignoring his solid performances of recent in the second one. You just don't expect the hometown paper to default to the critical piece.

Well then again, it is Toronto so perhaps this is as expected.

Er has it occurred to you that the explanation is that in Columbus his performances were solid whereas in Toronto he's made the gaffes.

Not sure I agree. The 'neutral' source starts off not even having their facts right - Iro did not pair with Marshall for the better part of his three and a half years - last year was really the only season you could say that.

I can see how perhaps someone could have tracked down Iro this week to get his thoughts on returning home - but that 'angle' IMO serves better for Columbus than TO. There were a couple articles from here on Nana's return that did not focus on blunders but him getting on in SJ.

When Iro's solid performances outnumber his poor ones, then I'm sure he won't be the focus. But until TFC stop losing/tying/dropping points through defensive errors then IMO they are fair criticisms and worth noting heading into games.
