Default FC Dallas @ TFC CCL Pre-Match Thread

TFC has a golden opportunity to take over sole possession of first place in Group C with a victory over the Hoops at BMO Field. I have no doubt that Winter will dress the strongest lineup possible against a formidable opponent.

    TFC 1 FCD 1

    ---------------Frei--------------

    Eckersley--Robinson--Iro--Borman

    -----DeGuzman----Frings--------

    ------------Marosevic-----------

    Johnson--------------------Plata

    -----------Koevermans----------

    Subs: Dunfield, Stinson, Harden

We need a stronger back line if we're gunna get the must need W at home.

To start. 4-3-3. Diamond in the back
    ---------------Frei-------------

    Eckersley------Robinson----Borman

    ---------------Frings-------------

    Marosevic----DeGuzman-----Dunfield

    Johnson--------------------Plata

    -----------Koevermans----------

Sub in Iro, move Frings to the M in 2nd half if we need a G.

Does Marosevic have an evidence he can successful play the wing?

Is Avila still hurt? If not, I would play him instead of Dunfield

    What you've drawn is a 3-4-3.

well, small mercy that Santos isn't playing against TFC cuz he'd score against us lol

If Peterson does score, I'm sure he'll dedicate it to Harden on Twitter

The Reds backline will have to keep Brek Shea in check, what a player he is.

Puerto Rican referee Javier Santos is in charge of the match Wednesday night. Santos has never officiated TFC before.

In the last 8 international matches Mr. Santos has awarded 24 yellows & 2 reds, including 5 yellows in his last Champions League match Aug 3.

wondering if this guy is just another prick like Brea was last week in Panama.

Seven TFC'ers are carrying a yellow card and risk being suspended for the next CCL match if they get carded by this guy Wednesday.

Do these include cards handed out in the prelims vs. Real Estali?

Rumors are George John to Blackburn for 3.2 million! WOW! I always thought he was good but not 3.2 good. I wonder what Brek Shea could get?

    Yes.
MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto

Apparently he's not available tomorrow. John is taking a trip to Greece to sort out his paperwork then off to England to see if a deal can be firmed up.

So Ugo Ihemelu is George John's CB partner? Who replaces John now? I don't follow FC Dallas well enough to know their depth players.

it will be interesting to see which squad Hyndman brings to Toronto, seeing Dallas lost to Seattle in Dallas last game.

probably Bobby Warshaw or Jack Stewart. one of their other defenders Zach Loyd also got injured last game, Dallas had to shift formation. If Hyndman sticks with the makeshift defence from last game, back four will be Benitez-Ihemelu-Jackson-Hall

I'm glad Dallas played in Mexico last week and played an MLS game on the weekend and has a game this coming Saturday. No more significant 'rest advantages' for our opponents, which was a common theme earlier in the season. This scheduling is fair.

The funny thing is, TFC has a long two-week break after Saturday's SJ game at home, while Dallas has a US Open Cup game and a friendly in that same period. If they didn't have US Open Cup and didn't schedule that friendly, they'd have had 2 weeks off too.
