a day late, but here's my match report.

a week off led to a more organised tfc, and one with a specific tactical plan for an opponent, both welcome surprises, and very good signs for the future.

Whereas in the game at Rio Tinto, Real were able to pass it around TFC with no problem at all, this time it was made much more of a challenge. In that game Kyle Beckerman completed 85 successful passes, and Will Johnson 55, yesterday their numbers were down to 38 and 25 as TFC made things a lot more difficult for them.

    Very good observation here....

"The most undervalued aspect of the goal was Marosevic’s hunger to get back into the play by making a darting run across goal that rooted Nick Rimando as Plata’s driven cross slid into the side netting.
Would Maicon Santos — the player Marosevic replaced — have offered up the kind of energy that undoubtedly created the end result of Plata’s effort?
    Absolutely not."

Agree 100%...Once again Mariner & Winter made a good deal....

theoretically yes, but the whole single entity thing means there's still inter-mls trading available I think. and let's face it, MLS isn't going to let the rules get in the way of robbie keane coming over to LA for example, so exceptions will always somehow be found.

In my opinion, other than maybe the DeRo trade, I think we have made some solid upgrades this year. If they can find a way to keep Ecks and Plats long term than the future is bright.

Adam Moffat's blast from 35yrds vs Portland
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

    -Eduardo Galeano

Thursday's game will be live on Setanta at 8pm. Setanta is on 'freeview' this month. Good news.

There have been some pretty awesome goals this year in MLS. Slowly but surely this league is making strides.

Agreed. When I first started watching MLS in 2007, there was maybe one highlight reel goal a month on average. Now there is at least one beauty scored every week across the league.

I saw it on Twitter, from Sportsnet, but then realized it was in the pre-match as well.
