Thanks, D.

how about a t.f.c. win 3-2
De Ro will definitely be up for this one. Hopefully we can outscore them. Hoping Davies drives himself to RFK today (too soon?).
D.C, DE-ro, DP's DEE_licious. Match preview there, and here's a lament for what should have been a great thing, de ro at TFC.
and your tfc word of the day - reducer.
football term, by where a player will attempt to tackle an opposition player in a grossly unfair and extremely violent manner, so as to let the opposition player know that if he values his family jewels then today might be a good day to have an "off day".
The reducer is often aimed at knee height of the opposition player (or in extreme cases, the testicles), and will usually take place in the first few minutes of the game.
make it happen frings.
Thanks D!
I hope we can pick up some more road points. The boys seem happy for a change! (no surprise there)

MONTREAL — Montreal Impact chief business officer Claude Pinard has the best-kept secret in town: the club’s logo.
The new crest, which the team will use for its 2012 inaugural season in Major League Soccer, will be unveiled officially on Saturday at Saputo Stadium at halftime of the Impact's NASL game against the NSC Minnesota Stars (8 pm ET). As expected, both Pinard and executive VP Richard Legendre had very few comments to make, but were able to give a very small two-word description: "new and traditional."
where is everyone gonna be tonight?

Toronto FC still needs time
Aron Winter had an opportunity to work with the players he had, to play the cards he had been dealt, and he found them wanting. He has now brought in players that are more to his liking. If he can get them playing the way he wants, he can then be judged on his performance in the transfer market.
Winter, de Klerk and Paul Mariner, the Director of Player Development, have been brought in to restructure the club from top to bottom. That was never going to happen overnight.
Hopefully for their sakes, the fans of Toronto FC will give them the time they need to do just that.

I don't love the characterization of WinterMariner's recent moves as "transfers" and "signings", because, while that's what anyone would have expected them to do (given the euro background), it's not what they've actually done.
They've done what they've done primarily through trades. Trades are riskier because they cost assets, and it's an area of uncertain expertise for them. Describing it the way de Vos does kind of hides that.

I knew that you couldn't resist marginalizing, still another, voice asking for time and patience.
Don't let Jack see this post.

Ya it looks like they only opened the east/west stands, and only the lower level on the west side. Still though, 7 or 8000 people out for Canada vs the US in rugby is nice to see. Wish I could have made it. And Canada playing well too
And the pitch from here still looks pretty good. Not the best feed but I'm not seeing brown patches or any divets coming up. It looks like a football field almost.
Not illegal exactly, you're right. There's 100 years or so of history behind the transfer system. It's rooted more in the idea of the extent to which labour can flow freely in the European Union. It doesn't have anything to do with roster sizes. At any rate, we don't have same system here so criticizing Winter for trading instead of buying isn't valid.
Was 6th row in 126. The pitch looked just about perfect at the end of the match. I would have put the crowd closer to 10-12 thousand. Pretty vocal too. I joked to my friend that you don't see nearly as many Canada supporters during a CMNT match. They should have been handing out free tickets to the WCQ's...
Not true! I've given that discussion up. Heck, even I know Winter leaving would be terrible.
I could see how WinterMariner would have an edge in the transfer market. But they're not pursuing that. They're in the trade market, dealing with very established FOs. That's all I'm saying.

I thought that would happen. The only time I think there would be strain on the pitch would be with the scrums.
I watched the rugby match on TV. I didn't see any field damage. Actually, the grass looked perfect.... and no patches were flying up or anything.
I think if it had rained, it would have been a problem.
