Baggio to TFC, he was the lone reason why I liked watching the 1990 World Cup and the reason why I'm a huge fan of Inter. Than came Ronaldo and I was hooked for life.

I'm very pleased with the Ryan Johnson acquisition, looks like Mariner had good judgement in trading for him.

Not a DP-quality player, but he certainly is making his presence felt.

I hope the fo has a good plan to market the hell out of the champions league so we have a full house. It's much more interesting football than mls in my humble opinion.

    Qualifiers, qualifiers, ole, ole ole!

It wasn't pretty, but we negated the pitch and the ref and got the job done. well done boys.

    Wink

    Not another slow news day?

Not over the moon because of who our opponent was. But we played better as a team, defended from the top and showed a willigness to track back. Good job, lads.

Is it wrong to want to hug Paul Mariner?

Oh, and we now hold the distinction as the team who acquired the most players during a season that was not an expansion team. Correct?
"Failure simply isn't an option at this stage. TFC pushed its chips to the middle of the table when it splurged on Bradley and Defoe and reinforced its bet by making savvy acquisitions elsewhere. This collection of players is capable of delivering on the promises made during the close season. There are no more excuses available for TFC. What is good is that we have multiple guys who can now put the ball in the net - one game its DK, next its Plata, then Johnson.

TFC may have been the punchline of many jokes throughout the MLS season, but based on the majority of comments in cyberspace, it seems as though supporters of other MLS clubs are genuinely rooting for TFC to perform well in the CCL. It's nice to see fans supporting all of the clubs representing MLS in CONCACAF.

Would you do the same for Columbus, Vancouver or Montreal down the road?

Yeah, I figured that I wasn't the only guy with a man crush for the fellow who helped fill the holes and make the roster changes to get our team on track. Klinsy appears to have made the right selection with Mariner.

I admit that I kind of cheered for Montreal when they went on their run.

But I also have this crazy idea that if the Canadian reps do consistently well CONCACAF might one day put the Canadian champion straight into the Group Stage.

We're winning when we're supposed to win- that's always a good sign. Even the fact that "we're supposed to win" feels nice.

Now: Frings absolutely robbing DeRo with a hard clean tackle, placing the ball to BORMAN who sets up Koevermans for a GOAL! Should be a great game.

There is a traditional way to do this in CONCACAF:

I'm not sure that this "winning" idea that you speak of will work.

After watching our 2nd goal last night - anyone think FIFA / CONCACAF might have a look at the bank records of the Real Esteli Keeper...?

Watching that game I recorded last night, I swear my backyard was more suitable to play on than the one TFC performed on last night. Nevertheless, great job with the win last night. On to the group stages.
