Default TFC FO - WHO/HOW do I contact them

Im absolutely livid they let/sold tickets to nicaragua supporters (not even real esteli supporters) in our section (117). We have an away supporters section, they should be there, not in TFCs supporters section. Its offensive and on a bad night could lead to confrontations (although ideally cooler heads prevail). Get your act together.

I rarely complain about these things but christ, this is without a doubt one of several things they really fucked up with re: this game.

As much as I agree with the point you're making, I doubt the FO really cares. There wasn't even 10,000 there so to them a ticket sold is money in the bank. The best way to keep away fans out of the supporter section is for the supporters to buy their damn seats for matches like these!! But when season ticket holders opt out, these seats go to the general public, and there's nowhere on the site that asks "are you a fan of the away team"...so they have no way of knowing.....

They were probably just happy to have sold the tickets.

Security and stadium staff probably didn't have the training or the smarts to move them to an empty section. There was plenty of room to move them to last night.

So where should they be put then?

Not that I disagree with what you are saying, I entirely do, I do want anything but red in the south stands and the same thing happened at the Canada/Ecuador match which had me annoyed.

Anyways, these away fans acquire south end seats, should they be relocated? To where? Does BMO have the legal right to force them to move seats? Every other seat in the house is more expensive, so will it start a trend of away fans buying cheap seats to get relocated to more expensive seats?

Just wondering what you think they should do about it that makes sense.

I suppose we could always just kick the crap out of some away fans some night, that'll force their hand.......I kid.

They can enforce it. The question is do they want to?

They have a designated away section for a reason.

Problem is anyone can buy a group batch of tickets, it is simply a min amount to get the group rate/discount, so they might not really know who these people are unless it came through a team or something.

While I agree that the FO should be aware of such things, unless Ticketmaster makes a point of notifying ticket purchasers on their site how can they stop it? The best they can do be be aware of it and keep an eye on it at BMO. They can't stop someone from buying tickets and I guess unless they feel there will be an issue they will not bother relocating them.

BTW - I was in 114 last night and there were Nicaragua fans by us. They were a great group of folks.

I had issues with a Vancouver fan during the first time we played the second leg in the torrential down pour.

I made the comment to the security guard who is a stand up guy, he understood. Shit got heated and long story short buddy was asked to move and then as he was leaving he tossed a beer at me and was promptly thrown out.

IMO the problem is when people go online to buy tickets they don't ask if you are supporting the home or away team. So people just buy the tickets they want without any idea of where they are sitting

I understand that not everyone will be picked out but the FO would do well to direct supporters to the away supporters area

There were a few in 113/112; I mentioned it to guest services that it's probably not a great idea. They then moved them to 120.

They should put something in place for all soccer matches at BMO Field. I know the feeling O.M.Y. felt last night. Cheering on Canada (in Canada) while getting dirty looks from Jamaican Supporters is not fun. Neither was cheering on Juventus surrounded by Sporting fans. And once had major altercations with NYRB fans sitting in our area.

Tickets need to be clearly marked "no fans will be seated in this section wearing Blue"
This is done many places and we certainly have the technology if ticketmaster can generate tickets for venues like Massey Hall marked " obstructed view' and the like.

And yes the staff need to enforce. This is a security issue

Odds are people will just buy the cheapest seats first.

Ticketmaster should have it set up where once you pick the tickets it forces you to select where you want to sit instead of "best available".

And I don't see Ticketmaster changing that.

Or if you call into TFC office they should ask you who are supporting... but again, I can't see them changing that.

But as pointed out.... when you're forced to sell tickets (i.e. CCL matches, Canada games) instead of relying solely on STH... TFC/CSA doesn't care even though they should.

This is a huge security issue that needs to be addressed. It's laughable that the FO/Security have taken measures to confront some of the things their own supporters have done (smoke bombs, etc...) yet still choose to be naive over such an obvious concern that we've had for years.

Their lack of proactivity, or even recognition on this issue can be seen as typical "North American", mickey mouse BS. I call on every member of Red Patch, NEE, U-Sector and any other South End SSH to immediately demand action before something unfortunate does happen down the line, whether it's at a TFC or Canada game.

The Toronto Police, Security and TFC FO should all be very concerned with this issue.

and on a night that it's close to a sell out? good job that they were moved, but the point of the thread is that they were in there in the first place, which might have been problematic if there were no empties to be moved to.

There were a few Nicaraguan fans sitting in 114 and there was enough insults going both ways towards the end, although to me it looked like some of the TFC fans were pushing it. At one point we thought a fight was going to break out as one of the Esteli Fans tried to get at TFC fans, but nothing came out of it. Security was nowhere to be seen and no one was paying attention.

My experience from last night and complaint to MLSE:

    To whom it may concern:

I just wanted to bring to your attention a Security concern that I observed at the Real Esteli Game on July 27th, 2011.

My family was surprised to see that a significant group of away team Fans were seated in the Toronto FC supporter section (114). I understand that it was a low attendance game, however I was further disappointed that Security did not pay attention or monitor the group. This was obvious after Real Esteli goal several fights almost broke out (pushing and shoving), and there was a significant amount of foul language in the stands with extreme racist remarks.

The distressing issue for my family was not only that security was not paying attention, but there was also no visible security within a reasonable vicinity that we could get a hold of, in a reasonable amount of time, should a more serious issue arise.

This was sent to them through the "Contact Us" section of the Website, under the "concern" subject. I hope it gets through.

Please address this problem by preventing away team fans in the supporters section in the future, and by providing a better supervised security monitoring- especially in the areas of concern.

Both the FO and ticketmaster should have a statement on supporters section tickets that clearly states opposing kits/colours are banned from these sections. Follow that up with signs at the entrances.

OR let the supporters groups control these tickets...

I love your optimism but I can't foresee an absence of 10-12 free seats any given game.

during last year's match against arabe unido, i was at the top of 110 and i was having a back and forth with some guy two sections over. last year's cruz azul match, i was in 225 going at it with a group of mexican fans in the same section.

after both instances we shook hands and laughed about it. to me, thats the way it should be.

yeah, it was a bad scene.
i was tweeting it last night.
in 115, there was an away fan...stirring it up in 115.
    but TFC supporters getting tossed.

they should escort all away fans to the north end, or 104 sort of thing.
