I just wanted to bring to your attention a Security concern that I observed at the Real Esteli Game on July 27th, 2011.

My family was surprised to see that a significant group of away team Fans were seated in the Toronto FC supporter section (114). I understand that it was a low attendance game, however I was further disappointed that Security did not pay attention or monitor the group. This was obvious after Real Esteli goal several fights almost broke out (pushing and shoving), and there was a significant amount of foul language in the stands with extreme racist remarks.

The distressing issue for my family was not only that security was not paying attention, but there was also no visible security within a reasonable vicinity that we could get a hold of, in a reasonable amount of time, should a more serious issue arise.

This was sent to them through the "Contact Us" section of the Website, under the "concern" subject. I hope it gets through.

Please address this problem by preventing away team fans in the supporters section in the future, and by providing a better supervised security monitoring- especially in the areas of concern.
i highlight the fact the all visiting support should be seated in the away supporters section regardless of what their ticket indicates...again this should be security enforcing this issue...let you account rep know as well I have already notified mine, and i got the point across...

And I don't see Ticketmaster changing that.

Or if you call into TFC office they should ask you who are supporting... but again, I can't see them changing that.

But as pointed out.... when you're forced to sell tickets (i.e. CCL matches, Canada games) instead of relying solely on STH... TFC/CSA doesn't care even though they should.
Have you ever bought tickets to an event in the U.S. on Ticketmaster? They actually allow you to pick the exact seats you want on a map of the venue. They've been doing this for a few years down there, so it's not that the technology doesn't exist. I guess they just can't be bothered with implementing this in Canada.

I remember looking to go to a Washington Capitals home playoff game. When I wanted to check for tickets on ticketmaster, your credit card needed to have a postal code from a certain distance to the city to even be able to make a purchase.

they should escort all away fans to the north end, or 104 sort of thing.

the fact that travelling support is able to purchase tickets in our supporters sections is completely dumb and irresponsible. Just make the away support sections just as cheap as ours so there is no squabbling or need to sit anywhere else...easy.

If they come in then security should be sending them back.

think of it from their perspective. If you were travelling support wouldn't you WANT to sit with your fellow supporters? This is what I don't understand about MLSE. Not only would putting all away support together be safer and less chance for trouble. It would be doing the travelling support a service and would add to the perceived value and overall increase experience for them as a customer.

I'm sure if given the option those travelling supporters would want to sit with their fellow supporters.

^ My company does exactly that, makes ticketing software.

I don't think there's a way to really do that automatically. If you don't know that you should be in a designated area how are you going to know?

You'd have to buy tickets in a block (the way RPB does away trips), you'd have to call to talk to someone, or the seat map would have to label the section as 'away support' and you would have to know that the section exists.

There's nothing stopping you from buying seats where ever you want though.

    I know that.

    But they should put disclaimers.

Unfortunately, they only use Best Available for TFC games online, so there's really no where to put a disclaimer.

I guess you should know that a "supporter's section" is going to be filled with hometown supporters, but...

TFC have probably slipped into the red with the DP signings. They're probably not interested in anything that requires them to increase costs these days.

Ticketmaster gave you the option of picking Italy/Serbia-Montenegro/Neutral when they played at the dome, and that was 6 years ago.

Surely they could do this now, and if they put a disclaimer on the ticket buying page that says something like "Visiting team supporters that buy seats in TFC supporters sections will be removed from their seat and forced to purchase a new ticket in the visiting team supporters section or leave the stadium" that would cut down on any issues.

They used to use our software at the dome until this season.

EDIT: That may just been the Jays.

I highly doubt that, the salary for the Team is a fraction compared to that of the Leafs or Raptors, and they still sell a very decent amount of tix on regular basis. Have to remember you don't see all the people at the stadium that bought tickets.

It should also never effect the security and safety of the fans during games. I could care less what their ticket demand is when a fight is about to break out next to my family and security is nowhere to be seen on top of that. It's one of those things that can bite them in ass one of these days with a few lawsuits or disqualification/fine from the competition.

Its a league game, some people have roots to their home countries and will support them over us as a 'one time' game.

As well, factor in that the cheapest ticket is in the south so people can go online anywhere and snag those seats easily. I don't think there is any cause for concern especially when our own fans don't show up. Everytime we see an issue flaring up security has been more than willing to work with us.

As for the money, its laughable. They are most likely paying less for our DP's combined than some bench players on the Leafs. Of course they want to keep costs down but the paranoia about this is getting laughable.

Dont care why theyre there, they shouldnt be in our section.
Realistically i know no fights are going to start, I just dont want other supporters in our supporter section which seems pretty damn reasonable. If i have to mask it as a security concern so its considered so be it. After all one never knows, it could go wrong in the future, thats something they should keep in mind.

i'm gonna guess these real esteli supporters were not technically 'travelling supporters' ... more likely the local nicaraguan community, and they bought cheap tix together

but again, a few simple business rules about supporter sections would handle this

Default Supporters section what a load of crap!

While I really do love the atmosphere and entertainment the Red Neck Boys have continued to bring to BMO field for the last 5 years, get over thinking there is only one supporters section.
Whomever buys a ticket wether first time supporter or not is a SUPPORTER and thank God Home or Away fans dressed in Red or not are coming at least their filling the seats, the attendance this year has been dismal but part of that problem is the product on the pitch! Even when I have a few pints they still look awful!
This year has been dismal you boys deserve credit for sticking with the team through thick and thin but I have only seen three games this year, partly because I bring my kids and having late evening Saturday kick offs is stupid and does not work for me, nowhere in the world do they kick off at 7pm or 8pm on a weekend and if its for GOL TV its a joke because its the worst station on the Air. Someone tell MLSE its not Hockey Night In Canada lol
Anyway probobly going to give up my seats next year based on pitiful product on the field and rediculous weekend kick off times but wanted to thank you for the entertainment you bought to BMO but keep in mind you are not the only fans! (it should never have been described as the supporters section in the first place, need a lakeside or southend name etc. this pisses other supporters off!)
I am an ex pat and was told I bought one of first season tickets 5 years ago love the beautiful game but so mad at this years antics together with my home team Birmingham city going down what a fuchin year for football in our household.
ps should have said Red Patch Boys not Red Neck lol
and let me know when you have finished singing the Dichio song..get over it.
Enjoy the boys in red you deserve better!
    X Fan

^^^The late Saturday games make sense in the summer because its too hot and we have all seen the team loose steam on the pich under the afternoon sun.

Almost all other MLS sides in hot temperatures play Saturday evening games and we are seeing why.

Anyhow, I believe most of the objection is about the south in general and not in our specific areas. As you will see, we have a good concentration of RPB's in 112 and 111 but the members are spread out all over the stadium.

Its a shame about Birmingham going down, I expect they will be promoted soon.

    Cheers
