Default Are you sick of "a new year, a New favorite player"??

Kinda was thinking about it as I'm getting excited about our roster and dosnt it drive you nuts that even if you've had a favorite player for 2-3 yearsanyones at risk of being shipped, dosnt it shy you away from buying jerseys?, like I wanted to buy one every year like I do withutdbut it's kinda hard when I basically have a new favorite player every year: 2007 - Dichio, 2008 - Dichio, 2008 - De Rosario & Attakora & Frei 2009 - De Roasrio & Attakora & Frei 2010 - De Rosario & Attakora & Frei & Henry 2011 - Eckersley & Frei & D.Henry & ? I'm likeing the 2 new CBL players and Koovs but well see.

I'm very weary of really liking a player like do with united, like committing myself to saying he's my favorite tfc playercause of how spuraticly random and unstable our roster has been

Alls I'm saying is I hope winter starts stabilizing the roster, I want a new jersey and a solid team chemistry most of all lol, sorry foe the rant, felt as if it should be put out there to see if theres simillar feelings

While I am sick of the "a new year, a new favourite player" syndrome we TFC fans face, I am equally tired of threads complaining about it like this one. No disrespect, but there's really not much you can do about it, so look to the positives.

Yes, this is definitely the LAST STRAW for me. That's why I'm gonna have them put my favourite beer brand on my jersey instead.

This is true. I also care about the following:

-Lack of team cohesion over a long-term.
-Team Chemistry being affected on the field.
-Locker Room morale having a negative view.
-No long term security for players.
    -Reputation damage for Toronto.
-Player turnovers adding to the cost of paying wages of others ie. Chad Barrett.
    -Unfamiliarity with surrounding players.
-Players losing long-time friends in trades.
-Players losing linguistic assets in trades.
-Lack of player identity within the fanbase.
-Low understanding of team XI within the fanbase.
-The uncertainty to safely purchase a players name on a jersey.
-Loss of fans due to player departures.
-Formation irregularities causing misplacement a la Yourassowsky at midfield.
-Lack of sufficient lettering and numbering within Adidas' jersey manufacturers.
-FIFA 11 hassle in creating and trading players to Toronto.
-Awkward player relationships ie. Terry Dunfield from Vancouver, Iro/Griffit from Crew.
-Inability to choose a favourite player.
-Real Estate Agents losing work when player suddenly trades away before closing on a house ie. Laurent Robert.
-Lack of knowledge of newer signings in the workplace when cooler talk occurs.
-Designated Player failures and subsequent disappointment.
-Hope turning into pessimism with every new signing.
-Inability to safely change an avatar on a forum without being forced to changed about a week afterwards.

There's more but I figure that's good for just the basics.

jesus christ armen, tell us how you really feel.

players get traded. what can ya do?
there's a few players like dichio and brennan who're always good bets for kits, frei too. i sense that when we get some stability on the managerial end we should see it in the locker room as well.

I've never really had a "favourite" TFC player, to the point where I'd be putting names on a jersey. I've had a few players with qualities I liked a lot, such as Barrett, but it's going to take some on-field team success for me to really start developing favourites.

I have a Frei jersey. All my player jerseys are blank and will be for a long time I think unless I come up with some witty non-player related name/number combo. Anyone seen any good ones?

I don't get names or numbers on jerseys but if I did I would just go with a legend over a current player. A 8 Dichio or 13 Sundin jersey is classic.

If I were going for one, I'd go for a 9 Dichio, myself.

I remember seeing "Mut's Nuts" on an Arsenal jersey at Highbury about 12 years ago - made me chuckle.

    How about <insert name here>

Or a jersey with a velcro patch where the player's name would go?

Stefan Frei is really the only player that's been around long enough to develop into a fan favrourite, and unfortunately for him, GKs don't tend to get a lot of recognition in this league. I'd say he's my all-time TFC player, but I suspect many casual fans don't really think much about him.
