    Default Flare-Gate!

..well, not really. Not big news just wanted to share.

MLS posted it's Photos of the Week for Week 18, included was a double flare shot of the Chicago Fire crowd.

I commented about how it's funny that in Toronto they kick out sections for doing that, but MLS advertises Chicago doing it.

2 minutes later the picture is nowhere to be found!

    The end.

Chicago and New York are allowed to use them but they coordinate it with the FO. I remember when RBA opened up they had a cool flare display but it was all set up by the owners, they even had a bucket of sand.

Damn that's cool, didn't know. They look so damn amazing from all around the stadium, I wish more teams would get on board with it.

Chicago are not officially allowed to use them. I don't know about the Red Bulls.

Considering the state of ticket sales the iron is indeed hot for TFC supporter groups to try and come to an agreement with the front office in regards to flare and smoke displays. We'll likely never see a stronger bargaining position again in the near future.

I could see management allowing it if it was in front of the capo stand, inside of a bucket of sand, all of which was paid for by us.

Analogy, NFL James Harrison Steelers legal hits never flagged but they fine him. Then they put a video out highlighting the hits in question.

LMAO! That will never happen! We already rolled over for them about the smoke and ANOTHER group lighting a flare. Do you think we could ever bargain for flares?

They are probably more afraid of guys panicking and throwing lit flares into the crowd, like last year in 110-111.

Honestly, as nice as they look (if you aren't standing beside one), they are banned at BMO so debating the topic is pointless.

That's the rule, you either know it and respect it OR you flaunt it for your own personal agenda and put the executive in a no-win situation.

    Thanks for the material, Flats.
"Failure simply isn't an option at this stage. TFC pushed its chips to the middle of the table when it splurged on Bradley and Defoe and reinforced its bet by making savvy acquisitions elsewhere. This collection of players is capable of delivering on the promises made during the close season. There are no more excuses available for TFC. Only success will continue the process of atoning for the past and establishing a higher standard for the future." FOX Sports

Maybe we just need a sticky thread titled "Never-Ending and Futile Flare Debate" so we don't have to do this every week.

We could also recycle the "post game rant" topic, just don't add any specific game to the thread title......
